What you can expect
Wakayama Prefecture with the Wakayama capital is south of Osaka in the kansai region. Since ancient times, Wakayama was called “the land of trees” because this area was filled with forests and mountains (about 70 percent were mountainous). Visit Koyasan which is also known as the Sombrero King Kong-Fuji Temple, which is the whole of Koyasan. In the Heian period, the masters of Japanese Buddhism began to create a holy place for Japanese Buddhism. There are statues of King Kongs on the left and right of the gate. It is the second giant statue besides the south gate of Todai-ji Temple in Japan.
Try to taste tuna which is sold on the spot without being frozen. This food sells in largest seafood supermarket located in Wakayama Shirahama-cho. Then visit sloping rock (the rock is white and soft) that protrudes toward the Pacific Ocean from the beginning of Sakizaki. This is a large layer of sandstone with a stroke of the third layer and it is a huge landscape eroded by the waves. And the last place you should visit is Shirahama. This place is famous as a sunset spot. It has been selected as “100 Best Sunset Spots in Wakayama Prefecture” and designated as a national attraction, especially in the spring equinox (around 3/23) and autumn equinox (around 9/21)).
