Beautiful island with lovely beaches strewn with beautiful granite boulders. Really fun to cycle around the island on rental bikes.
Probably the best located hotel on the island we thought.
We stayed in the "Orchid" superior room. The room was slightly tacky but the view from the balcony was probably the best on the island we thought as it looked down onto the beautiful beach below.
Evening meals were good.
Breakfast OK but nothing to write home about .
The restaurant manager (from Sri Lanka) was excellent - a very friendly chap, who really made our stay at Patatran very special. We would give him 10 out of 10 for hospitality.
Only thing really to complain about was the exchange rate the hotel levied on our final bill... on top of the government restaurant tax (5-10%) we'd already signed for, as we paid at the hotel desk at the end of our stay (rather than directly at the restaurant after the meal), they charged another 10% government tax + their credit card machine only worked in euros (rather than seychelles rupees) and the hotel forced an exchange rate on us that was 15% worse than anywhere else on the island => not happy with this => make sure you pay for your restaurant meals in local currency at the time of eating

The location of Birgo is good , about ten minutes walk to the jetty and surrounding shops & eating places, there is also a couple of supermarkets even closer.
The hotel is friendly, the breakfast ok, and the rooms clean.
the only downside is the lack of privacy both at breakfast and when having a late evening drink. The reason for this is that the chalets are fairly close and face each other.
I would strongly advise taking a torch and some pale clothing as many of the push bikes have no lights, so in the evening with no street lights it can be a bit hazardous.
This is a lovely little island and well worth a visit.

Seychelles is fantastic but after visiting other hotels, we find this one to be below standard for the value. No swimming pool, no TV in the rooms, no internet access, faulty safe box, faulty AC. The location of the hotel is not conveninet; you must mobilize to get to the closest beach and any gear that other hotels provide free of charge for you to fully enjoy your stay (e.g. goggles and fins) are additional. You will need to rent a bycicle to go anywhere else or you should prepare yourself for a long walk (2.0Km @ 30 Deg Celsius). If you want to go to another hotel that offers a better value for you money, the hotel will still charge you 100% of what you paid.
