"I will stay here again"
Hotel location is great, close to and easy access to the freeway, but I didn't hear any traffic. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Produce Row section, which has the Mi Tierra (24 hrs) and La Margarita Mexican restaurants. The sidewalks are lit up well enough that we didn't feel unsafe walking. The Riverwalk is about 15 minutes walk, nice area but pretty noisy and the restaurants are more expensive and right on the walking path, so everybody can see what you're eating. If you stay at a hotel on or near the Riverwalk the hotels by default will charge you $20 or more (per night!) to park in their garage. The windows have black-out curtains included, so no light comes in for sleeping in. Staff was very courteous. The place is attractive, parking is plentiful, there's a small pool, the breakfast was surprisingly good. I had read comments about Pancake Joe's on Donaldson Ave. and went there the first two days, but really I should have just eaten at the hotel. Each day the menu changed slightly--bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs with sausage and some bell peppers, biscuits and gravy, two waffle makers, lots of oatmeal and yogurt options, plenty of toppings, coffee was really good, juices and milk--really the breakfast here is great. There is plenty of seating. The room kitchen was great, two burner stove, big fridge, all the dishes, glasses, cups and silverware and accessories you need. Really it's worth it to spend a little more money, you get your money's worth here.
