5 star indeed!Posted Nov 17, 2014
We booked a superior room for 3 nights and stayed on the 10th floor in room 1012, which was very spacious and in a quiet part of the hotel. They were very attentive and accommodated our requests. It was also my partners birthday and we came back to the room to find a cake on the day we arrived and on his birthday as well! The hotel has a wonderful pool, even if not too warm. Breakfast was fantastic with huge choice of breads. Location is not very central, but we walked to the centre in 45 minutes and only 15 minutes on the overground. Trip from the airport is only 20 minutes on the X9 bus which stops at the Berlin Zoo. Plenty of shops to browse near the hotel if you fancy some shopping. Would stay again.

Perfect hotel for a city break with a teenagerPosted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Really quiet and comfortable room for two adults and a teenager. Heaps of space, felt very luxurious. Pool and spa an added bonus. Staff very helpful.
Location: Easy walk from zoo station which is on main line direct from airport. Zoo 2 mins away is brilliant. Reichstag dome at sunset spectacular, GDR museum
We thought the hotel might be a bit out on a limb but instead it was an easy walk from the main zoo station and a lovely bus ride on the 100 (from just down the road) takes you through the Tiergarten into town past lots of sights or the 200 goes from right outside to Postdam Plaza. The hotel was perfect, huge room for our family of three and coming back to the pool and spa in the evening with tired feet was just lovely. The main sights are spectacular-best off all the Riechstag Dome and view from the cathedral Dome, the zoo, the DDR museum (hands on) and just wandering around. Public transport was easy and cheap (16 euros a day for the 3 of us on all transport was amazing-buy a 5 person ticket even if there arent that many of you-it works out cheapest) The weather was glorious for October so we spent most of our time wandering the streets looking at the sights and sounds. It sounds obvious but Berlin is huge so try and plan what you want to see if you are time limited and book the Reichstag ahead. We didnt really do any of the museums-so plenty of scope to return!

Mind the noise!Posted Oct 13, 2014
Cons: Noise control
Location: Excellent location close to shops, restaurants and the zoo.
Dreadfully managed hotel! After a corporate convention, the staff were stripping out fitments and noisily dumping everything into two open containers until about 12.30 at night. The next night there was noise sounding like mechanical fixings going on until about 1.15 am. Couldn't wait to leave and checked out at 8.30 am the next morning. Would I go back? NO.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your honest feedback following your experience at our hotel. I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and noise annoyance during your stay. As one of the largest business hotels in Berlin we have the pleasure to perform different events. Some of these events require extensive preparation. Although we always focus on the expectations of our guests I am sorry that we were not able to fully meet your needs this time. Let me assure you that we will work on our noise control during large events. Nevertheless, I am pleased to learn that you were satisfied with our rooms and services. Even though you were dissatisfied this time, I would be honoured to welcome you again to our hotel to convince you of the general all-round excellent service and quiet location. With kind regards Robert P. Herr General Manager InterContinental Berlin

Luxury HotelPosted Oct 7, 2014
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. There is a separate sitting area and the bed is quite comfortable. The hotel and the area around it are also very quiet for a good night's sleep. The bathroom is wonderful with a separate tub and a separate shower. This hotel may not be in the typical tourist area but it is an easy walk to the subway where you can go anywhere. We also loved the free wi-fi.

Great hotel, good locationPosted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: clean and quiet
Cons: Seperate bath and shower
Location: Its a block away from the zoo and aquarium and it 10 min walk away from city center and high end shops.
This hotel was all about the little touches, they got all the details right. Like actually having televison channels that had familiar shows, when your not in your country its nice sometimes for something to remind you of home. the bed was nice and comfy and a real king size bed not two beds put together to make one big bed, the room was also very clean. The location is quiet but 10 minutes walking distance to all the action or to the train, there is also a bus stop outside of the hotel if you don't feel like walking.

Not perfect, but greatPosted Aug 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is basically great with its professional and courteous staff, its convenient location and its large rooms. However, there were several things that require improvement with regard to its hardware, especially in the bathroom. The TV was very small. And several mornings there were knocking noises from the outside that woke us.

Brilliant stay, would highly recommendPosted Aug 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Brilliant stay. Stayed for a week with my girlfriend. Would recommend paying for the package where you get breakfast included every morning as they have a brilliant buffet style area where you can get a choice of fresh bread, pastries, yogurt, cereals, bacon and meats aswell as pancakes, waffles and omelets cooked right in front of you. The hotel was right beside the zoo and aquarium aswell as being beside the bus stops and metro station. Would also recommend getting an abc card upon arrival to the airport as this let's you use all the public transport for free for 3/5 days. Overall very very good, would recommend to anyone, don't forget to eat the local cuisine, and visit the museum Island.
