Well run hotel in good location

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Good breakfast Safe and fridge available in room.
Cons: The windows were tinted so there is reduced natural light and walls painted dark green. Even with lights on it was difficult to read.
Location: A good range of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Close to public transport.
Very helpful staff, cheerful and polite. A very easy hotel to stay in as it is well run

Ideal location Okay Place

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful and nice.
Cons: The WiFi is horrible. In this day and age, not having WiFi is just unacceptable. Especially if you are going to claim to be a 5 star hotel.
Location: There really isn't anything near but it is located beside a metro station.
The hotel was ideally located beside Montgomery station. It is literally two houses over. The hotel is a little dated. The WiFi was absolutely horrible. I cannot believe they would even advertise that they have Internet. I ended up spending 30 euros on a prepaid mobile plan with data and tethering. The hotel is dated. It sort of has the charm of an older hotel but at the same time they need to spend money to renovate if they wish to be a 5 star hotel.

Well placed and comfortable hotel

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: It's rooms have character and are well furnished. It is conveniently placed on the metro.
Cons: I found the bed rather soft and spongey.
Location: Quiet, residential. In nearby Parc du Cinquantenaire resides the military museum and opposite is Motor World. The Natural History museum is near.
The Montgomery hotel is situated in an affluent and quiet part of town. The nearest metro, buses and trams stop no more than 50m from the hotel. If arriving by Eurostar it is possible to get a tram (83) from station to hotel. If fit, it is possible to walk into the centre of Brussels and see various characters of the city. Your journey will take you through parks, past the E.U buildings, the Royal district and on into the tourist area. I thought that the breakfast buffet was rather meagre, however, there are a number of restaurants and cafés situated in the streets around Merode as well as Montgomery.

Barely 4 star

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: The room was quiet with free Wifi
Cons: 24 x 7 room service, coffee making facilities in the room, firmer beds
Location: No shops or cafes nearby, but next to Metro line 1, 7 stops from St. Katerine which was a great area for restaurants
We had to change room because the air-con blew hot air. Unable to get a coffee at 2 p.m. Friday, or a drink at 10 p.m. Friday

Really disappointed!

Posted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The restaurant closes completely on the weekend. No room service.Breakfast is basic. My room had a stinky cigar smell that would not go away even with window opened. And of course if you open the window, it is too noisy outside because of main roads.

Great service from reception staff

Posted Apr 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel for the underground is excellent. The room good, but I found it hard to find a plug socket to charge my phone - a little better light required. Good shower, but a very heavy hairdryer - I understand why but... Most importantly reception staff could not have been more helpful when I found that I had left my phone in the room. First they called me to say that it had been found, then held it until it was collected. It was stressful but made less painful by their prompt response.

Not a Fine Hotel

Posted Mar 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Good location if you need to be in Montgomery, but it is far from a fine hotel. Hotel is in poor condition: my room had no cold water, broken bed, and there was no internet during my stay, so bad for business visitors. Good to have a secure car park but the hotel is much too expensive for what it is: just an old small hotel in poor shape...

A short break

Posted Dec 29, 2013
Pros: The décor.
Cons: Due to the fact that it was Christmas the restaurant was closed, so only breakfast being served. As mentioned above, no tariff for cost of breakfast.
Location: A tram right outside the door.
The décor from a bygone era. Smart and elegant. With features from the modern age. A couple of minor things. There was no breakfast tariff and I could not work out how to turn the heating down in the room, but it certainly was not cold. Also, there was a tram right outside the hotel, which took us to the terminus which was very useful for where we wanted to go.
