Short stay in Cognac

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Our 3 night stay at Domaine du Breuil this September was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and helpful, giving us a map of the town, a brief history of Cognac and the role of the Chateau and the way cognac is blended. The grounds were lovely and would have been more so had the weather been a little kinder so that we could have used the pool. Being just a 15 minute walk into the old town made this hotel an ideal place to stay and the food was amazing.

Hidden Charmer

Pros: The setting and historic nature of the hotel
Cons: We don't like duvets on the bed - too hot & heavy - especially during warm weather.
Location: We went through the Cognac factory tour and found it very interesting. Also enjoyed a walk in the town.
After staying in typical city hotels for the last 10 days, it was a special treat to go to a real French hotel with lots of character and charm. Our only regret is it was raining so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor accommodations.

This hotel was an amazing a d surprising breath of fresh air in cognac. The staff was very professional and friendly. The surroundings a real treat. I only wish we could have stay longer even if the town of cognac was a bit of a disappointment the hotel made up for it. We highly recommend it.

Quiet & Beautiful

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. The room was gorgeous. A spa tub with multi color lights. The fixtures were chic and I loved everything about this room. The hotel restaurant was amazing. I had some of my best meals here. The service is good and the hotel area is outside of town so it's amazingly quiet. The only slight drawback is that it's a bit of a hike from town but the hotel will gladly call you a taxi and the problem is solved. Breakfast is a generous buffet with both hot & cold items. The weather was hot during my stay but the room was still comfortable. The town is incredibly friendly & in hindsight I should have stayed longer.

Luxury at a bargain price

Posted Aug 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
If you want to treat yourself whilst in Cognac this place is a must. The hosts are most welcoming and the rooms luxurious. It was extremely hot whilst we were there so the swimming pool was a nice surprise. I wish we could have stayed longer. No air con but our room had a large desk fan which did the trick.

Needs a huge overhaul

It loooked shabby and outdated. It was like a trip back to the 80s. Hoytel staff didn';t know who I was an tried to overcharge me. Not really worth the money. Avoid.
