“My Shem Creek Experience”

Terrific location on the waterfront with very convenient 4 mile travel to downtown Charleston where there are plenty of parking garages. Fantastic restaurant directly next door and actually connected to the hotel by a deck and walkway. Lovely nature boardwalk across the street. Watched fishermen unload and cut up fresh fish on the dock. Was originally disappointed that I could not find an available hotel in downtown but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I would highly recommend it to everyone. Extremely clean room with deck and the bathtub was big enough to swim in. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Be sure to ask for a waterfront room and stay for at least 2 nights or longer. Great for families with kids!

“Wonderful surrounding atmosphere”

Although the hotel is older and the bathrooms are tiny and dark, we loved our stay at the Shem Creek Inn. The pool overlooks Shem Creek, which is more of an ocean inlet, I think. We had a wonderful afternoon watching dolphins, kayakers, pelicans, and boats (many with dogs!) go by. There are several restaurants within walking distance and several bars (all of which got very crowded and noisy over Memorial Day weekend!), and it's only a 10 minute drive into Charleston. Would go back again!

Hotel is located just across the bridge from historic downtown Charleston and offers very quick access to D.T. / highways. Reasonable brkfst in mornings w/juice, milk, cereals, bagels, donuts served overlooking the water/pool area. Easy place to stay for extended trip as rooms were large. Staff was very pleasant. Has some good restaurants in walking distance. Nice waterfront Shem Creek location. Free parking.

Shem creek Inn is our favorite place to stay in the Charleston area. The rooms are lovely. The hotel is clean. The employees are most helpful. We like the fact that there is a delightful restaurant beside the inn, and that the inn and restaurant are right on the water. We will return again and again.

I can't think of one complaint! This is a great hotel! You will be very satisfied with your stay here. It is very clean and well kept! Not to mention the great atmosphere you are surrounded with; the boats on the water, the great restaurants on the water, and most of all the friendly people. This hotel gets a big thumps up from me!

I've stayed here before & always check their rates before i book a budget hotel...i consider Shem Creek Inn a luxury hotel and whenever they're running specials i have to stay there.....rooms always very clean , spacious & comfortable. Awesome location , staff friendly but probably wouldn't stay here at their regular rates.

“Mom's first vacation alone in 15 years!!!”

This hotel was exactly what I needed! There is great food with super atmosphere right next door! Starbucks & Wild Wing Cafe less than a mile down the street. All the amenities of a tourist spot without the feel. Cross the beautiful Cooper River bridge and find Charleston straight away. EVERYTHING was smooth and easy to find. Isle of Palms beach $5 parking with perfect beach and ice cream and tourist shops. Recommend: Vickerys- right next to hotel; Lanas- in Charleston; and Bocco 1/4 mile down from hotel. I will return later this year. They are finalizing the updates on the hallways and rooms! perfect :-)
