Close to beach but cockroaches!

Pros: Right on beach.
Location: USS Lexington right down the beach.
We were excited to be staying close to the beach for our 1st trip ever to Corpus. Thought it was a good choice for a hotel. Walked in and got checked in while family went to restroom. Clerk was not the happiest but I looked past that. We were at the beach! Family came back and said there was a roach in the bathroom and they squished it. Got to our room and it looked nice. Until we found a roach walking around by the door. Killed it of course. Searched the entire room for others. No others were found. My husband said because of the humidity there were bound to be some around. Went down to front desk and told a new clerk. She said she would tell someone and that was the end of it. Walking to the pool we saw several dead roaches in the restaurant area. We didn't eat there. They could of at least swept up the dead ones. Later that night I heard someone in the hall and I could of sworn they were spraying RAID. Didn't want to look out to see. I didn't sleep that night too afraid of roaches crawling around. We were out of there early the next day. The hallway smelled like RAID as we walked to the elevators. Not a good experience. The location was amazing. Right on the beach and about a block from the USS Lexington. Was not impressed with hotel at all.

Pros: Loved the restaurant and bar. Food and drinks were excellent for the most part. Dominic and Rebecca made us feel warm and welcomed. Loved the gym too.
Cons: Small tweaks only. Reseal gasket around sliding glass door to balcony would help cool the room more efficiently.
Location: Great location on the beach. Close to several shops with souvenirs and beach goodies. The Lexington is very close by and tours can be arranged.
This was a week long birthday celebration trip for myself and a friend. We checked in and found we had been upgraded to a room with an ocean view. That was just the beginning of a wonderful stay. Room was clean and comfortable with a view of the USS Lexington from the balcony. The Radisson is not a brand new facility but well cared for. With the wet weather we had for a few days, we ate most of our meals in the restaurant. We were pleased with the delicious fare, morning and night. Mostly we were delighted with the service and fun and friendly attitude of the staff. From the manager, Rebecca, and our waiter most days, Dominic, to the restaurant owner Mylene, they took care of us in so many ways. The night desk clerk, Lavon, was also a delight. There was a little problem with the air conditioner that was remedied promptly by Danny from maintenance. They are on duty till 11:00pm which was so convenient. I must mention Tony from maintenance staff. He was extremely helpful in making sure we weren't being bothered by a random guest wanting a cigarette. Being mature ladies traveling alone, we were very appreciative. The gym was nice on days when the weather wasn't good. We ate great food in the restaurant and had drinks in the hotel bar in the evenings. We were there so often we had our own table. The weather was terrible for all but a couple of days and yet we had one of the best beach trips ever. The staff of Radisson on the beach in Corpus Christi made the difference.

It was ok for what we needed but everthing is outdated. Our room on 7th floor had small roaches. Pool bar was never opened, room wAs mediocre.

For a Radisson....Disappointing

Pros: The location.
Cons: Several things (see experience comments above).
Location: USS Lexington, Blackbeards restaurant
Generally, in the past, when I heard the name Radisson, there was no question, it would be one of the best. Not the case here. We rented an Ocean view room and paid a bit higher than I really wanted to; however, we looked at it as something you don't do that often. Outside of our balcony was, what I image were plastic pointers that are used to deter the seagulls from landing on the balcony areas. They not only looked bad! Half of them were broken and pieces were laying all around. Then there was the beach. The beach on both sides of our hotel had been cleaned up (probably by the city), but not by our hotel. Seems like the hotel would keep their beach clean. The A/C unit in our room was LOUD. Several times at night when it turned on at night it woke us up. And behind the bathroom door, you would think they would mop it (there was a spot like it had never or rarely been mopped). One other thing, I am not nor have I ever been a hotel manager, but you should not have the exterminator come knocking on the guests' doors asking if he could exterminate the room!!! Although, it is good that they do exterminate, your guests don't want to smell that stuff while they are on vacation!

Location: close to everything in corpus cristi. good view of the ship and bridge'
make sure you ask for a room above the 4th floor if you want a nice view of the beach and gulf. old hotel.. needs some tlc. everybody there was nice and helpful.

Close to the water but aged

This room with ocean view was very aged and run down. The sliding door to the balcony was rickety and whistled constantly with the wind off the coast. The beach was fairly well maintained. If you want a nicer stay, go farther into the city. If you want a "bargain" stay here. We pre paid with no cancellation clause but left a day early anyway.

Corpus Christi beach suck

The city is boring, the hotel is old and not clean. Floor is sooo filthy! And the room feel wet, prob because of the humidity. However staff at restaurant is awesome and food is perfect!

Good room I suppose if you are 21 on spring break. Not for a couple on vacation or a family. Not clean. Not well kept. Several damaged pieces. WiFi unreliable. Paid for a king size room got two double beds. Staff must be used to unhappy guests since they weren't concerned we checked out of a prepaid room a day early.
