"A perfect lake retreat for a larger group. Excellent location on Smith Mountain Lake, including dock, paddle boards, heated pool & hot tub. The beds are the most comfortable sleeping mattresses I have ever slept on while traveling. The home is beautiful and the views amazing. Close to shopping, wineries and restaurants. Definitely is a true vacation."

The house was really nice and equipped with everything we needed. The weather was pretty cool and it rained all day one day so we didn’t use the golf cart but we would have liked to."

"We rent a house on the lake every year for a long weekend in Aug and our original spot wasn't available. This house was a nice improvement and we may consider it next year instead if available. "The way the owners have the property setup is fantastic. Big TVs, grill, fire ring, bar on dock with TV, etc. Whether you want to lounge in the shade, go out on the lake, or watch the big game it’s setup great. Quality bumpers and cleats on dock to protect your boat. Nice house. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. We’ve been coming to SML for 20 years and this is the best house we have stayed in."

"We had the best time! This home was just what we were looking for. We just wish we could have stayed longer. The kitchen was amazingly stocked. Huge Great Room on entry level, plus D/R, Eat-in Kitchen, Office, Laundry Rm, and Primary Suite. 3 more B/R's up. Downstairs had a 2nd Kitchen, and a huge TV, perfect for the guys. 3 more B/R's. Altogether 6.5 Baths. We just loved this home. Hoping to go back in the near future. Maybe in the warmer weather. Highly recommend!"

"We enjoyed our stay so much. The area is beautiful and the house is large, but cozy. Lots of room to spread out, which was great, but the house has three levels, so would not be good for anyone who doesn’t want to walk up and down stairs often. The view is incredible with about 220 degrees of shoreline. We built a fire one night and even took the kayaks out on a sunny day in late November. Heavenly! "We had a wonderful stay. The boys enjoyed learning about bass fishing from Billy Kohls. Great hikes nearby. Hot tub was fantastic after the cold days. Wonderful fenced in backyard for our pups. "This home was wonderfully equipped, as a matter of fact they had nice bonuses such as soap, TP, shampoo available so you didn't need anything right away. The only drawback is if you have an issue with stairs. It is 90 stairs to the water. Very safe stairs so I used it as exercise but if you struggle with using stairs this may not be your place. The view is amazing and the home is very confortable"

"This trip was about fishing. All we did was eat sleep fish. The house was great. Room in the drive for two bass boats and trailers. There is outside power for charging batteries twenty feet away. We did not use the dock. It is 17 minutes to State Park Dock, but only five minutes to smaller Hales Ford Dock. Everything is provided...linens, towels, paper....all the things really tired fishermen don't want to deal with after a day on the lake. So, just show up and fish. I never slept better and...

"My family (myself, husband, &17 & 20yr old sons) loved staying here for our low key spring break! The house was gorgeous and had tons of room, the view was stunning, beds were comfy, hot tub buttons worked, pool table was awesome, great collection of dvds/books/puzzles/games. Sound travels throughout the house and outdoor area-makes it easy to feel connected! Would love to return when we can jump in the lake…without cold plunging…which was fun, too!"

"House was very nice, a bit dated. Cleaning could have been better. Took the blanket off the king bed and there was dirt and food crumbles and hair on the mattress. Also less than half a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom with no spares. Loved the area and other than above issues, our stay was great!"

"What an amazing stay. 1790s cabin restored in the 80s. Beautiful and still had all we needed for our trip to the lake. We visited historic Bedford during the day and spent our evenings in this beautiful historic cabin. Met the owner Dave and he gave us a full tour and history. He also gave us some great suggestions for places to eat and places to get great views of the area."
