Hi Uchenna, I'm sorry to hear that your experience at Flora House was not superb. We are very proud of the way we incorporate restored vintage furniture throughout the property as part of our design and also our dedication to sustainability. Although it may not be to your taste I can assure you that our furnishings are all well cared for, in great condition and very clean. As for the temperature, we are in an 1892 Victorian Mansion so our rooms do not have the individual thermostat controls found in some newer hotels. We keep the house temperature at a comfortable 70*, and we have extra heaters available on each landing for any guest who prefers their room warmer (we also have fans for those who prefer cooler temps!). This information is all included on the Welcome Sheet in your room, but perhaps you did not see that since you arrived around midnight. We also have an after hours phone line for guests need assistance late at night. Since you only emailed to ask about the heat (at midnight), we did not see your note until after your early departure the next morning. We wish you the very best, and we hope that the rest of your travels were enjoyable.

I see from your dates that you arrived just as we were beginning to put out the Holiday Decorations and I can assure you that things are festive now :) As in our property description, the Continental Breakfast always includes yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals, toasts and spreads as well as alternating pastry and charcuterie - if ever you arrive toward the end of breakfast and find items depleted please let us know and we will gladly fill a plate for you. Secondly, please accept my sincere apology that your family didn't have the warm and welcoming experience that we hope to give our guests. The majority of our visitors are adults, however as a parent myself, I understand and appreciate the importance of feeling comfortable when traveling with kiddos. Although we do ask that they be accompanied by adults while at our property, children of all ages are welcome at Flora House. It's important to me that all guests feel at ease here, regardless of age or any other characteristic. We even keep a few games, toys and dishes on hand especially for our younger guests.
