A very nice hotel close to the car ferry dock.Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Its location next to the ferry. Its cleanliness. Its hospitality. The staff.
Cons: The welcoming staff member in Tee-shirt and scruffy jeans. However he was extremely helpful.
Location: As we were attending a wedding we only ate out in Dunoon once at a restaurant called Chatters. It was excellent.
Our room was superb with a wonderful view across the estuary bay. It was spotlessly clean and the 2 staff that we met could not have been more helpful. We only ate breakfast in the hotel, but it was excellent and varied from cereals, fresh fruit and full Scottish. The bar was very comfortable and stylish. We were allocated room No.! as there were not many guests and this had a 4-poster bed. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Service let down.Posted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a really nice hotel with plenty of character it was just a pity about the staff working there. On arrival they seemed to be surprised to see me and begrudgingly booked me in. I had booked breakfast for 9am and arrived in the dining room a few minutes before that. I helped myself to a few things from the buffet but it was 9:15 before anyone came to take my order. There was a toaster but no bread to put in it until I asked for some. My cooked breakfast arrived at 09:30.

Not ImpressedPosted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
From the moment of arrival to leaving both my husband and I felt that the staff didn't care, the service level was extremely poor. On arrival we saw notices outside the hotel stating that the restaurant was closed for dinners My reservation had been made months prior to arrival but the hotel hadn't bothered to let us know. Apparently the dining room ceiling had collapsed last MARCH however we found out later that this was untrue. It was closed as they didn't employ a chef! This was so true as we found out when we were given our breakfast. Everything overcooked, dry and inedible. Although the bedroom was a good size and clean the bathroom wasn't. We couldn't stand comfortably in the shower due to the low ceiling and very small space. The shower ran out of hot water and then to cap it off the basin ran out of cold water!!!!! When this was discussed with the person in charge there just wasn't any response, it seemed as though this was usual! The Hotel is advertised as 4 stars however it only shows a 3 star rating outside the hotel BUT not rated on the Scottish accreditation web site, have they had their star rating taken off them - I wonder!

We had a lovely stay. The place is beautiful and very inviting. The man running it is was a joy. The rooms are very comfortable and the included breakfast was scrumptious! I would absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone!

Beautiful Victorian building, very tastefully decorated. Dinner excellent but rather pricey.

A quiet, traditional setting.Posted Jul 7, 2011
Beautiful old building with modern amenities. Staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet vacation spot. I'd return if I was ever back in the area.
