"Two couples in town for a wedding. We hiked the area trails and dined at Cut River Grille multiple times - don’t miss it. The house was perfect for us. Lots of room to spread out and relax. Loved having a dining table big enough for everyone to eat and play games. The garage was definitely set up for fun. The host was great and communicated well. We really enjoyed having a property that allowed our coonhound to visit as well - he had a blast relaxing on the deck."

Very clean and had everything stocked that we needed; paper towels, toilet paper, soft towels, etc. Beds were very comfortable and much appreciated after being out in the sun all day. "We needed a place to relax after a day of snowmobiling in Gaylord and this home fit the bill perfectly. Spacious and charming it was like we were time-warped back to the 50's/60's. The original cabin, along with the addition, allowed the four of us plenty of room for sleeping and lounging. It was a pleasure to meet the owner and get the history of the property. "The house is very nice in a lovely location on the grounds of Shanty Creek, and it was the right size for our family group. The kitchen was well-appointed and well laid out, which was great, since we cooked all of our meals. We needed a snow shovel, though, and there wasn't one there, nor was there any salt or sand to put on the walkway or steps leading into the house. We'd definitely consider renting this home again."

"Every thing was great except for the beds. The top bunk was so close to the ceiling that nobody could get into it. The full size bed mattress was extremely unsupported. Sleeping was not ideal."

"The location is okay but we were mostly coming to get into the water and go canoeing which we were told there were canoes and kayaks on site and a place to drop in. That is correct however they did not mention the extremely steep incline hill of mud and roots to get into and out of the water and the length of the incline which is absolutely not doable so basically the ploy to get us on site and booked dropped many stars for our family. If I were to just rate the house that was a 4."
