The Wild Winds is a winter wonderland! Stay in this rustic, cozy log home at the Wild Winds that we call the “Honeymoon” cabin ( it was once a one-bedroom cabin, but has been expanded since it was built in the 1950’s). Snowmobile trails start at the top of our driveway. Cross-country ski on our 70 acres of private trails, or visit groomed county trails only a couple of miles away. Ski downhill courses such as Treetops or Boyne Mountain, each only about half an hour away. Or simply enjoy the pristine beauty of our acres of pine forest in their winter frosting!
There is room to park a trailer here.
"Honeymoon: Cabin has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8-9
Or consider our other vacation rental at the Wild Winds: “Junior’ cabin has 2 all-season bedrooms and a 3-season back bedroom and sleeps 7-11, and it has a fireplace! (see VRBO #368462).
Thinking ahead to other seasons? The Wild Winds is a nature lover’s paradise all year round. We offer many trails for hiking and/or biking. Enjoy fishing, boating and relaxing on the lake and beach, just steps from your rustic cabin. Or spend time at our private pond (actually a small lake) nestled in the woods, where we have installed a dock for deep water swimming and canoeing. Or for a little more excitement the Wild Winds is only 7-8 Miles from world class golfing, shopping, restaurants and other sporting lakes. If you like to take short day trips you could go to Petoskey to see beautiful Lake Michigan, or spend your day at Mackinac Island.
The log homes are right on Wequas Lake, and our beautiful private lake is just a short walk into the woods.
Both homes come equipped with satellite TV, washer, dryer, full kitchen and 1 bath. The price is the same for either log home: the basic rate is $675/wk or $135/night, and prime dates are $795/wk or $160/night. In July and August we rent by the week (Saturday to Saturday) There is $80 cleaning fee, and well-behaved dogs are permitted for an additional $50 fee.
There are a total of four homes at the Wild Winds; the Lodge (where our maintenance guy lives), the Dorm (my house) and the two vacation log homes.
