Great overall experience!

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Staff, food/drink, views!
Cons: Attentiveness to the room
Location: Close to airport. Enjoyed st. George, Hamilton and dockyard, the included bus/ferry passes made a huge difference!
Although expensive, well worth it. Ideal location for venturing out to the major sites. Water was much clearer than anticipated! Food was excellent, staff very friendly. Room was comfortable..would have appreciated wipe down of sinks/counter each day, and some response to our four requests to investigate a loud constant noise in our room...but all else made up for that.

Great location and beautiful beach!

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Grotto Bay resort is in a convenient location just minutes from the airport and has a beautiful outdoor beach front location. Snorkeling is awesome and families can enjoy swimming in the calm and crystal clear water, as well as the warm and inviting pool. There is a hot tub and the rooms are simple but comfortable. This was the first time I have stayed in a hotel and the bed was actually comfortable and didn't leave my back aching the next day. There is a dive shop right on premises where you can charter a Boston Whaler and tour the beautiful bay area. There is a scooter rental right past the hotel entrance and a convenient bus stop at the end of the driveway. Swizzle Inn is walking distance and the hotel has its own cave to explore. Best beaches around! I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family. :)

noisy fridge and air conditioning - really quite outdated. If you don't need air conditioning or fridge - you can turn both off for a good nights sleep. room clean and comfortable bed ++

Nice hotel near airport.

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Closeness to airport & nearby attractions.
Cons: The rooms could be jazzed up a bit.
Location: It is located 5 minutes from the airport across from St. George parish. Nearby are Tom Moore's Tavern, The Swizzle Inn, Bailey's ice cream, Crystal Ca
The hotel is situated on a bay close to the airport in Bermuda. It has approximately 13 separate lodes each containing 12 to 14 guest rooms. The rooms are pretty basic & most have a view of the water. Many of the lodges are situated up on a hill near the main building. The swimming pool is down below near the water. Some of the lodges on the hill require walking approximately 75 steps to reach the pool/beach area. The food is pretty good, not great.

Booked Again for Next Year

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: The location and grounds were excellent. The main building is very nice and the staff are terrifically friendly and helpful.
Cons: More and better pillows.
Modern, clean, comfortable. Bed was good quality and firm, which I like. Had some difficulty getting suitable pillows. If you have room, I suggest you take your own. Balcony was perfect for morning tea. Had gorgeous views every day. Grounds were second to none. There are 4-5 caves on the property. You can swim in one of them, get massages in another. This makes the place extra special. The pool and beach are small-ish, but neither were crowded when we were there. Plenty of opportunities for food and drink on the property (3 restaurants, 2 bars, etc.). We had at least one meal in each and all were very good. There is a bus stop at the property entrance (a five minute walk) where you can cash a bus to anywhere. Rent scooters right down the hill. The airport is across the bay; a ten minute taxi ride. Airplanes are limited to certain hours, but I never heard any. You can walk to Bailey's Ice Cream Shop, the Swizzle Inn, and Crystal Caves. We loved it and have already booked for next year.

The hotel has a lot of amenities.

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: The hotel is quite old but has a lot of character, which is good, and it is extremely clean. The staff are all very polite and helpful.
Location: This hotel has a lovely location all rooms look out towards the water. You can explore and swim in the caves on the property. Swizzle Inn is nearby.
There are two restaurants and another one by the pool they are all good. The pool and beach areas are very nice and close to each other. You can also rent water sport equipment right by the beach. I would recommend this hotel to the majority of people, as long as you do not mind a little walk and climbing steps to the main building. You can catch a bus to St. Georges or Hamilton on the road right outside the hotel, and buy a bus pass at the reception desk. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and look forward to returning.

Not much going on

Posted Jun 6, 2015
This hotel was nice but it was not kid friendly...had nothing for the kids to do except swim. Also they really did not have much on the premises to do for the quest in general. Was not your typical resort!!

Relaxing

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: Most everything
Cons: Food less expensive
Location: Great location
Bermuda is a lovely island and this hotel really does well in making it a great experience. I've been to this island several times before but never stayed at Grotto. Glad I did. It's expensive, but worth every penny.

Pros: Location, the room and Beach
Cons:
Location: A few nice things are walking distance and they have a decent little beach
I go to Bermuda on business and often stay at Grotto Bay for my last night. You can usually get a better rate than Hamilton, and with luck you might get a swim in befor you fly. It's very close to the airport
