"Tiny, but terrific hotel on middle of tourist area"
Fine hotel with good location, but the rooms are tiny. Service Was excellent. Breakfast was $15 extra with coupon, and was excellent. Not sure how we got the coupon.

"Good and Bad aspects"
The room design is very attractive. Very Chinese feel. The TV in the room is small as is the room itself. My harbour view room on the 25th floor had one small window with a narrow view of the harbour between two buildings. Maybe the top floor was better but don't stay here for the view. The Handy Phone in the room is wonderful. You tether it to your own phone and then walk around town with maps, email, apps etc automatically updating at no cost to you. Very useful service. Would stay there again just for that. Location has good and bad points. It is not that easy to get a cab. You are a 2-300m walk to the MTR station but if raining that is not so great. Also quite a long walk to the entertainment area called Lang Kwai Fong. Even though I had a high floor noise was still an issue as the aircon unit in the room is noisy even on the lowest setting. Also noise to the room from the corridor an issue. This is not a hotel for light sleepers.

"Nice view, Excellent staff"
Staff was competent, engaged, polite and helpful. Room was VERY comfortable. Nice view from our 29th floor room. Food excellent - we tried 2 of the hotel restaurants -- both were excellent, though a bit pricey. JW MARRIOTT, HK is the best hotel experience we have had in many years.

"Cheap and decent - slightly frustrating location"
Perfectly decent mid-range (budget if you book with Exp!) hotel in the Wan Chai district. Two frustrating things: the staff try to upsell you a better room and extra Internet access as soon as you arrive (you get one device online access for free); and the hotel is a bit stuck out away from the action near Causeway Bay or Central. Room is clean and perfectly fine once you adjust the air-con from its default sub-zero setting. Acceptable. Not ideal.

"well located,poor check-in procedure"
The disappointing aspect of this was the check in procedure. They got nothing right and were not helpful. We had asked for a higher level room with a harbour view (had paid for a harbourview room and for access to the Rhombus room) and away from the lift. Instead, we got a mid level room with virtually no harbour view (looking out on a building site) and right on the lift well. In addition, they tried to get $2,000HK from us for use of the bar fridge in the room. This was not stated anywhere on their website or Expedia. Even though we told them that we would not be using their bar fridge they still insisted until we told them point blank that we were not giving them that money. Eventually they agreed to take the bar fridge contents out of the room. This whole procedure was very unsatisfactory. The next morning we complained about the room. Fortunately the staff in the Rhombus room on the 39th floor got involved and were very helpful (Sharon in particular) and upgrade us to a very nice room with an unrestricted harbour view on the 32nd floor. We do wonder what would have happened if we had not paid the extra money for access to the Rhombus room and the staff - we would not want to deal with the check-in staff that we encountered. Thanks to Sharon and Raymond from the Rhombus room staff our holiday then proceeded well. The Hotel is well located but there are building works going on right in front of it which will eventually block out the harbour view from many rooms.

"Great stay"
Brilliant hotel with excellent staff and facilities. The staff are excellent, kind, courteous, helpful, they cannot do enough for you. All the staff speak English with great charm and they make the hotel a pleasure to stay at. The room was spacious, well equipped and spotless. Excellent housekeeping staff. The hotel is in an excellent location with all amenities within easy reach. Restaurants are all excellent and the cuisine of a very high calibre. Could not have been better looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, just wish it could have been longer.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Your Guide to Hong Kong Hotels

Hong Kong is a vibrant place offering a mixture of different Asian and Western cultures, attractions and historical landmarks to its visitors. We at Expedia.com feel that visitors planning to book flights to Hong Kong should be well-informed about Hong Kong hotels located throughout the city.

If you plan to stay in Hong Kong for a long layover, sleeping in the airport will be an uncomfortable experience. Short term visitors should take the airport shuttle or rental car to a nearby affordable airport hotel.

If you plan to stay for a long-term vacation in Hong Kong and are looking for rates that are easy on the wallet, the Tsim Sha Tsui district offers a variety of Hong Kong hotel deals. Tsim Sha Tsui is famous for their variety of budget restaurants, boutique hotels, cheap shopping and local flavor. You will find more locals than tourists when walking around this district.

If luxury hotels are in the cards for you, Expedia.com suggests staying in the Mongkok or Causeway Bay districts. Staying in these areas puts you in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a variety of public markets and nightlife while offering you a chance to escape it all when returning to your hotel suite.

Many tourists prefer to book Hong Kong vacation packages when travelling to the city. If you prefer to travel this way and will have children accompanying you, Expedia.com suggests booking your room with a 5 star hotel such as a Disney Hotel. Hong Kong Disney is a great place to take your children before you and your significant other enjoy some alone time in the city. Hong Kong Disney offers daily shuttles from the theme park to hotels located within its vicinity.

With so many cheap hotel deals in Hong Kong available to tourists, the city's MTR rail system offers an affordable way to roam around the city. The MTR has stops located at all of the city's top destinations, resorts and a variety of other things to do that are off the beaten path. Your Hong Kong hotel will have information regarding the system and will be able to direct you to any destination that offers discounts to tourists.

Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities to visit in Asia. Whether you are planning to spend your honeymoon in a hotel in Hong Kong, are looking to take advantage of the best deals on local attractions, or would like to experience one of the many cruises from Hong Kong to surrounding areas, finding the best hotels in Hong Kong for the duration of your stay is a must for everyone.

Hong Kong is the world's most vertical city and offers visitors a spectacular skyline with modern architecture that is contrasted with one of the world's deepest natural harbors. This city has a population of more than 7 million, which makes this metropolis densely populated, yet it has abundant natural beauty as well. As a Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong is known as the place where "East meets West."

Many visitors to Hong Kong are surprised to learn that only about 25 percent of the land area is developed. The view from Hong Kong hotels encompasses the nearby hilly and mountainous terrain as well as the Pearl River Delta, Shenzhen River, and South China Sea. Rooms with a view are just one of the pleasures of visiting this city.

With a bustling international airport, Hong Kong is also the world's second largest container port and the world leader in international cargo. While Hong Kong is an expensive city to live in, visitors who book a trip in advance through Expedia can enjoy an affordable and exciting vacation no matter what their budget.

When staying in hotels in Hong Kong, visitors should be sure to spend time exploring both the urban areas of the Kowloon Peninsula as well as the nature preserves and parks. Public transportation is the best way to get around. Many of the best Hong Kong hotels provide visitors with maps to help navigate the city. With low local tax rates, Hong Kong hotel packages are economical for individuals and families alike. In this city, tourists can find everything from silk saris in the open air markets to handcrafted jade jewelry in the pearl district.

Travelers searching for cheap hotel deals in Hong Kong should be prepared to make reservations in advance by using Expedia. Discount rates may be available during less popular times of the year, such as during the hot and humid summer months. Prices for many Hong Kong hotel deals include extra services such as concierge and Internet service. To find a cheap Hong Kong hotel deal, be flexible about arrival and departure times. Some of the top deals offer substantial savings for traveling at off-peak times.
