"Fabulous interior design"
We spent 2 nights in Hong Kong as a stop-over on the way to New Zealand. The hotel was easy to find, the staff were friendly and helpful and the check-in and check-out process was painless. The rooms were very stylish and comfortable, although small as is the norm in big cities. There is even a 7-11 on the street corner for stocking up on water for the day. I would stay here again and recommend to friends.

"Great location & great value for the price"
The hotel upgraded me to an executive room (due to Expedia gold status) which is significantly larger than the regular rooms, and my review is based on the upgraded room. The executive room is very spacious, similar to a junior suite with a separate sitting area. I like the location near shops & restaurants. Plus, the hotel is really close (5 min walk) to the airport A22 bus stop. If you are staying here, the bus costs HKD39 and takes ~30-40 min (4th stop after leaving the airport) and is a much better option than the train. However, you aren't close to the Harbour and thus don't get good views from the hotel (I had a high floor room facing the street, and the view was pretty bland). The hotel gym is open 24 hrs, and has two free massage chairs available for guest usage. I didn't get a chance to try out the hotel restaurants but they actually looked decent. The hotel is pretty close to Tim Ho Wan (dim sum restaurant), ~25 min walk (though it took me closer to 45 min since the roads were really confusing) or a ~35 HKD taxi ride. Anyway I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

"Oustanding Facilities and Culture to Delight"
Overall great value, location can be better, however, strong attempts were made to compensate it by offering free shuttle buses to MTR subway stations and shopping mall including to the in town airport train connection. The 24 minute ride on the airport train to the city made the connection a breeze.

"Lovely room, convenient location."
The room was big and relaxing to be in. The glass bathroom was exotic, but you could get privacy by drawing the drapes around the bathroom. There are many restaurants nearby, and the MTR is about 5 minutes walk away. Booking was easy, checking in was easy, and a late check out at noon made departure easy too.

"Much better than advertised! Highly recommend!"
I had heard of the high level of service at the Mandarin Oriental, but our expectations were greatly exceeded on our business/leisure stay. The service was unbelievable! The people who cleaned our rooms continued to amaze us by folding our clothes, placing wire ties around my charging cables, replacing 6 complimentary water bottles daily, providing a screen cleaner for my laptop, and our list could go on and on. They would change/fold towels twice a day, and also make/re-make our beds twice a day. The friendliness of the housekeeping staff, concierge, porters, etc. was unmatched. We will definitely stay at the Mandarin Oriental (Central) when we return to HK on business.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

    Hong Kong Hotel Guide

Hong Kong is a vibrant place offering a mixture of different Asian and Western cultures, attractions and historical landmarks to its visitors. We at Expedia.com feel that visitors planning to book flights to Hong Kong should be well-informed about Hong Kong hotels located throughout the city.

If you plan to stay in Hong Kong for a long layover, sleeping in the airport will be an uncomfortable experience. Short term visitors should take the airport shuttle or rental car to a nearby affordable airport hotel.

If you plan to stay for a long-term vacation in Hong Kong and are looking for rates that are easy on the wallet, the Tsim Sha Tsui district offers a variety of Hong Kong hotel deals. Tsim Sha Tsui is famous for their variety of budget restaurants, boutique hotels, cheap shopping and local flavor. You will find more locals than tourists when walking around this district.

If luxury hotels are in the cards for you, Expedia.com suggests staying in the Mongkok or Causeway Bay districts. Staying in these areas puts you in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a variety of public markets and nightlife while offering you a chance to escape it all when returning to your hotel suite.

Many tourists prefer to book Hong Kong vacation packages when travelling to the city. If you prefer to travel this way and will have children accompanying you, Expedia.com suggests booking your room with a 5 star hotel such as a Disney Hotel. Hong Kong Disney is a great place to take your children before you and your significant other enjoy some alone time in the city. Hong Kong Disney offers daily shuttles from the theme park to hotels located within its vicinity.

With so many cheap hotel deals in Hong Kong available to tourists, the city's MTR rail system offers an affordable way to roam around the city. The MTR has stops located at all of the city's top destinations, resorts and a variety of other things to do that are off the beaten path. Your Hong Kong hotel will have information regarding the system and will be able to direct you to any destination that offers discounts to tourists.

Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities to visit in Asia. Whether you are planning to spend your honeymoon in a hotel in Hong Kong, are looking to take advantage of the best deals on local attractions, or would like to experience one of the many cruises from Hong Kong to surrounding areas, finding the best hotels in Hong Kong for the duration of your stay is a must for everyone.

Hong Kong is the world's most vertical city and offers visitors a spectacular skyline with modern architecture that is contrasted with one of the world's deepest natural harbors. This city has a population of more than 7 million, which makes this metropolis densely populated, yet it has abundant natural beauty as well. As a Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong is known as the place where "East meets West."

Many visitors to Hong Kong are surprised to learn that only about 25 percent of the land area is developed. The view from Hong Kong hotels encompasses the nearby hilly and mountainous terrain as well as the Pearl River Delta, Shenzhen River, and South China Sea. Rooms with a view are just one of the pleasures of visiting this city.

With a bustling international airport, Hong Kong is also the world's second largest container port and the world leader in international cargo. While Hong Kong is an expensive city to live in, visitors who book a trip in advance through Expedia can enjoy an affordable and exciting vacation no matter what their budget.

When staying in hotels in Hong Kong, visitors should be sure to spend time exploring both the urban areas of the Kowloon Peninsula as well as the nature preserves and parks. Public transportation is the best way to get around. Many of the best Hong Kong hotels provide visitors with maps to help navigate the city. With low local tax rates, Hong Kong hotel packages are economical for individuals and families alike. In this city, tourists can find everything from silk saris in the open air markets to handcrafted jade jewelry in the pearl district.

Travelers searching for cheap hotel deals in Hong Kong should be prepared to make reservations in advance by using Expedia. Discount rates may be available during less popular times of the year, such as during the hot and humid summer months. Prices for many Hong Kong hotel deals include extra services such as concierge and Internet service. To find a cheap Hong Kong hotel deal, be flexible about arrival and departure times. Some of the top deals offer substantial savings for traveling at off-peak times.
