From Jasper, the well-known city of Houston is 110 miles (177 kilometers) to the southwest.
While it may be tempting to just chill out while visiting Jasper, keep in mind that Piney Woods' many natural sights, cities and towns are never more than a day trip away. Woodville, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the east, and Hemphill, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the south of Jasper are also worth visiting should you have the time.
