It was less then I expectedPosted Nov 18, 2013
We arrived and it was in a really great spot with an amazing beach, although we we're put in a room a long way from the lobby which was annoying. Also the internet was terrible. You could only get it from the lobby but my phone or iPad could never pick it up. Was an alright place with great views. We were out all day so was okay as we didn't spend too much time there.

Absolutely NOT what you see on the description/picPosted Nov 14, 2013
Cons: reception and facilities, room and bathroom quality, air conditioning AND hot water at the same time, better service/staff help.
This hotel does not live up to its current 3.6 rating, I would give it a 1.5 at most. Fisrst of all, the accessibility is awful, actually having to traverse a beach and some rocks to get to the actual hotel. Second, the reception area and general facilities are run down in awful conditions. Once we checked in, we were told that we could have EITHER air conditioning OR hot water, but not both at the same time. Upon inspecting our 'deluxe' room (which was located at the top of a very steep hill, and we got no help with the bags) we were so disspaointed with the conditions of the room. The shower was just a hose with a hand spray, there were no towels, it as 1000 degrees inside, and the bed was barely a full bed ('double bed' advertised). We returned immediately to the front desk, and we asked for a better room or an explanation as to why the room was so different from what was advertised on expedia. The manager came out and was not nice at all, giving me no options as to get a better room or try to accomodate us better. Thankfully they allowed me to use their computer where I was able to book another hotel through Expedia which I highly recommend, the Outrigger. Seriously, you'll have a much better option with ANY other hotel.

Not worth the money for a OLD hotelPosted Nov 7, 2013
the hotel is so old and out date. You can almost smell the dirty. When I arrived, they change me to different room with to single bed,and the room has not been clean yet.

Beautiful locationPosted Sep 29, 2013
Great environment, be aware there some steep slopes and some rooms a fair walk from reception. Staff are lovely and would definitely stay again.

Great location but average resortPosted Sep 23, 2013
Location: Do the 1/2 day boat trip that goes snorkeling and visits Maya Beach, can be booked through foyer and is a fantastic trip. one of the best things I did
I stayed at Bayview Resort for 2 nights in Sept 2013 while travelling on a month trip through Sth East Asia. This resort is all about location. Right on the corner of the beach, which is smooth silky white sand with views of the ocean, you wont find any place on the island like this. A short 10min walk into the centre of town the location here is incredible. However, the room is basic, the bed is ok and as other people have mention there seems to be a major ant problem happening, my room had an ant nest in one corner, but it seems that you will find that all over the island. Overall staff were friendly and helpful, especially restaurant staff, but did have one incident with a staff member when I was sitting in foyer area using the WIFI and I was told in a very rude manner to leave by a reception staff member as there was a big group arriving and they wanted to use the entire foyer area to welcome them, when I disputed her and said that I'm a hotel guest and this is the only place to use the WIFI she started getting very angry with me and that I must leave now. As I was packing my laptop up I watched her talk with another couple in the foyer and the way she was speaking to them just so wrong and rude. You just cant speak and treat your guests that way, just because a big group of 30 people are arriving. Book this place for the location and go there knowing that it wont be perfect and you will have a enjoyable stay

Ok to stay but not worth pricePosted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Quite a walk from the Main Street and a hill climb up to rooms. Rooms were ok. But need new bathrooms. We had cold water for 3 nights we stay'd . Other than that air con and beds were good. And staff and food wasn't to bad. Alright place but not worth the price tag ,

Relax in Khao LakPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: It's style and the staff that worked there. Breakfast included was good too.
Cons: The only negative was a lack of digital media for when the rain poured - a great place for a mid-holiday break from beach and sunshine of Phuket.
Location: Pretty quiet nearby but a short walk to the "main" street.
Excellent traditional Thai style rooms with very friendly and well spoken staff.

Lovely hotel on the beachPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Location, view, facilities, atmosphere, staff, food, wildlife - especially the cats, gardens, swimming pool
Location: Quiet location within easy walking distance to the commercial hub. Plenty of boat trips for day and places to eat & drink at night.
Spent 13 nights at Bayview in August. I couldn't fault the room - as soon as you open the door you're confronted by this fantastic view of the beach and bay fringed by trees near the balcony. Paradise. The facilities like air conditioning & the safe were a must. The size of the room was good & the large bed with lovely pillows was the best I've had in any hotel. The pool and surrounding gardens were perfect. The beach was a bit rocky in places, so recommend beach shoes for swimming. Plenty of variety for breakfast. The hotel restaurant was a bit more expensive than the eateries on the prom. but also better quality and with a better setting right on the beach. The staff were friendly, helpful and very easy going - as are all the wildlife, especially the cats. The computers in reception are free and have internet access. But please be aware the rooms are on a hillside and you need to walk up and down 46 steps from the beach/reception area plus paths which are sometimes pretty steep. Also, there are no paths for about 100 metres between the hotel and the prom and commercial hub of the island so you have to walk on the beach. This is not a hotel for people with mobility problems - especially when trying to negotiate the longboat transfer from the pier to the hotel. Please be generous with your tips to support this lovely little island and its people, many of whom come from even poorer regions looking for work & have to work long hours for very little money.

Very RelaxingPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Simple but clean rooms and comfortable as well.
Cons: Nothing could be improved
Location: A 15 minute walk to the main hub of the island which is far enough away from the hustle and bustle
Rooms are sitated high above the water and provide great views across Tonsai Bay and to Phi Phi Ley Island.
