Glamping with a view! Nice pool and hot tub. The area had convenient dish sinks and refuse/recycle bins. However, if you are tenting or anything not in an RV with sound protection the 2 train tracks that busy into the night might make you crazy! The do have earplugs if you need them. The Expedia page isn't very good, weird info on it. Call the resort for correct info.

This is a very unique property, and we had a lovely stay. BUT beware of the current limitations. We arrived during the mid week by motorcycle and the restaurant was not open. There is a single convenient store/gas station in Lytton where we had to stock up for dinner. We had no cooking or water boiling ability. We made it work, but beware and ask ahead of time what challenges you might face for dining.

Kumsheen was amazing.
This stay was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and the teepee was very spacious and well furnished for the circumstances. There pool and hot tub were very nice on the hot days we were there and were not very crowded. Overall it was a nice trip away from it all and a great experience. P.S. We even had a little local guest, Owen, stay with us while we were there who was very friendly and stayed close for a large chunk of our stay.

This property exceeded our expectations. The cabin was comfortable, cold but with warm beds, clean. We liked the different games you can play around the property and the pool was opened. We received an email informing us that the restaurant isn't opened, so plan ahead with food and groceries. Yes, the property can be noisy because of the train nearby, but they provide ear plugs. I slept very well, even with lil noice. Will definitely stay again.

great place to relax under the ponderosa trees
again...another great stay at the kumsheen rafting resort, though rafting wasn't used. the cabin was great, perfect location and comfy beds with this pandemic a lot was explained, but the place ran smoothly from the canvas cabins to camping guests. the restaurant was open for take out only, but we did not use this so can't review how the food was, but i have eaten at the restaurant on previous stays and was very good! we will be back!!

Excellent Experience at the Kumsheen Resort
My family and I stayed in one of the teepees and it was a really cool experience. Comfortable beds are provided inside. We weren’t here for the rafting, just lodging. The resort has lots of games (chess, volleyball, basketball, bean bag toss, etc) for entertainment. Be sure to eat at the resort’s restaurant (reservations required) as the food is very good and there aren’t many choices in the area. I would stay here again.

Kumsheen Rafting Resort was a lovely experience, we booked a tepee because we thought it would something different to hotel/motels) we were not disappointed - it was amazing, we could lie in bed and watch the stars out of the roof (it was not raining). We went rafting on the rapids when we arrived - fantastic. The restaurant was great - I had the salmon - well recommended.

Road trip, BC

if you have kids...
So Lytton seemed like a good spot to stop for a night on a weekend away and my sister mentioned this place. In terms of what is in the area, this is probably a good option. It is 100% made for families with kids and likely provides many fond memories in that way. The other reviewer who said not so much for a romantic getaway - that's probably true. That's what we did but we were so early in the season that there was practically no one there and they had the good sense not to put the few people who were there on top of each other, so it was nice. We stayed in a yurt, and as such we paid a ridiculously high price for a glorified tent with no bathroom. Having said that, it was a very nice yurt. The bathrooms are neither plentiful nor that close by, nor that pretty, nor if you're a privacy stickler all that private, but again, we were out of season so it wasn't an issue. We played bean bag toss which was fun, we could have played a dozen other games, we went on a lovely desert walk, it is an absolutely beautiful location, and I don't think that the trains or the highway would be nearly as much of a deal as the other campers in terms of noise if it had been busy which, again, it wasn't. It has a 10am checkout which is ridiculous. We didn't eat the food there because we like to spread our money around in small towns ethically. You will be greeted by the most perfect teenagers from around the world which will annoy or amuse you depending on the extent of your parental nature & exp.

Not for us
This was a real disappointment. We had booked in a Teepee, but it was not fixed to the ground properly, so dust was blowing in over everything inside. We transferred to a cabin instead, which was a tent too. Facilities were very basic. Train noises throughout the night meant little sleep. Scenery was however good, with good night skies. We will not stay again, and would suggest that you do not unless you have to, or are adventurous. Room Tip: Go into town instead!
