Independent Mae Nam hotels in Koh Samui, Thailand

Very quiet hotel. Excellent for those, who seek solitude noisy beaches. The hotel is located on the beach, that is far from the main beach of the island (Chaweng Beach) - need to take a taxi. But there is no problem with that. Guests keep quiet. Almost no kids, just couples. Spacious room with balcony overlooking the pool (no sea view, but it does not feel lacking). The same breakfast every day with a reasonable selection of food and a variety of fruits. Just like everywhere. Each building (10 rooms or so) has its own pool. All the pools are wonderful! The hotel is located close to the beach. The beach has sun beds belonging to the hotel. Beach narrow, long and very beautiful.

We spent our vacation in Santibury with my wife and hotel met our expectations and even more. Very green territory, excellent service in rooms and beach and restaurants, silent and relaxing leasure. Our villa was placed in silent place around green garden and there were nothing to improve in our familiy holidays. Santibury located bit far from many party and night club places as Chaweng. For someone it could be weakness, but for familiy relax we found everything we needed.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the owner was kind enough to take a group of us for a tiki tour around the island in his truck. The huts were basic but what you'd expect for the price. The food was awesome especially the pizzas, a group of 7 of us had breakfast lunch and dinner there for 5 days a none of us had a bad meal.

Stayed at Zazen on recommendation of a friend. We loved the location, garden villa and the superb service. Secluded but not isolated so able to walk to other restaurants and bars. The breakfasts at the hotel are amazing and the service from the staff outstanding. We would have no hesitation on staying here again.

I find every body helpful and friendly at the restaurant, the spa. But the one at the reception not so much friendly and helpful. At time rude and give me the impression of not wanted to be bother. Other than that I had great time there at Hutcha Resort.

The hotel staff make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive at the hotel. They either ask for a deposit or your passport against the key, we gave our passports with full confidence that they would look after them (handy as we didn't have a safety deposit box in the room).The little huts that you stay in are immaculately clean and the beds are really comfortable. They clean them everyday and you get free bottles of water (even if you did not drink the bottles from the day before). The breakfast.... well considering I have been travelling for 3 months and have never stayed in a place for more than 3 nights (therefore had a lot of breakfasts) this place is genuinely one of the best. You can choose from a selection of food on a menu and they bring it out freshly cooked just for you. Its really good food. Even the evening meals are some of the best I have eaten. We stayed for 5 nights for the full moon party and they even put on a full moon buffet for free for guests that were staying and gave us a free shuttle to the boat the next day. I can honestly say I would love to come here for a full moon party every year, the staff are so lovely and the location is amazing.

We (a couple) arrived at Code in the evening after some delays and the staff members - Faith in particular - were ready for us and made us feel very welcome. The staff and Manager were very helpful throughout our stay yet not overbearing. The hotel was very quiet during our stay however the hotel still ran its full services (full breakfast service, spa service etc) which I appreciated. The hotel is up a little hill into the jungle off the main island ring road, and the hotel will take you up or down whenever you want (they give you a phone to ring for pickup). We hired a car from the hotel which was very easy (although we couldn't quite work out the insurance coverage situation because the contract was vague). The hotel is very clean and tidy. I would recommend Code to anyone who doesn't want to be right in the middle of the party action - it was nice to be able to get away from the stress. The local beach down from the hotel was nice for swimming and secluded but still with several dining options. My favourite afternoon of the trip was sitting on that beach in the sun eating, drinking and swimming. We had a top floor room which was great for the views but a bit hard to walk up to if you left something in the room! There are no lifts - which is fine if you don't mind a bit of exercise and are able. The food at the hotel is more expensive than in island restaurants but still reasonable and yum. Overall Samui was a great island to visit with a mix of adventuring and relaxing.

We decided to try Coco palms as a cost effective alternative to some of the bigger resorts. We are a family of 4, with kids 5, and 10, and had been away for 3 months so I checked through the reviews for a few of the 3 star properties on Koh Samui. Coco Palms had everything that the bigger 4 and 5 star resorts can offer, or at least those things that are important to us. The beach was better than many of the more expensive places, uncrowded and great for swimming. The food was delicious and very reasonable. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely presented, with aircon, fans, fridge, TV, in an attractive bungalow setting. The only difference from our 4 & 5 star hang outs was that the pool was a little smaller, but absolutely sufficient and the beach is 10 steps away after all. We will definitely go back. Excellent value for money and a gorgeous spot.

Me & my wife booked the Penthouse Suite for 1 week and upon arrival at the airport, used the free transfer service from the airport to the hotel. When we got to the Place, we were greeted & Treated very nicely by the staff (who remained very friendly & Helpful throughout the whole stay). The place was very beautiful with amazingly nice views of the surrounding area (all 360 Degrees). There isn't much places around the hotel to go as it is somewhat isolated, which in this case helped in creating a relaxing feel of a getaway. Free WIFI helped us connect back to people at home when we needed it. We had a bit of an issue due to the severe storm that occurred on one day.The staff were very helpful and understanding to us and helped us by upgrading us to a more appropriate location, where we finished off our stay (it was the family villa, which is extremely nice, Would recommend to everyone). There is a free shuttle service from The luxury resort to the Chaweng beach based sister hotel, which proved to be very useful to us. All in all, a very beautiful hotel with very lovely staff personalities (you will be guaranteed to remember one in particular, as she was very bubbly in her personality)

First time to Koh Samui and didn't know what to expect beyond the little we'd read/heard. Really happy we chose Saree Samui. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and have a separate outdoor sitting area with a private yard and outdoor tub/shower. The infinity pool and restaurant overlook Maenam beach and the views are remarkable. The service was second to none. The restaurant food (lunch/dinner) was just OK - the presentation was amazing but the flavours were not always great. That said, the breakfast was excellent. Eggs to order, including Benedict, and great coffee, fresh fruit and ton of other choices. Note there are a number of other options for eating within walking distance including John's Garden and Khun Anna. The general location is good but I would recommend renting a scooter (which you can do for about $9/day from the hotel) or a car if you want to see the island.
