Hunting cabin in the national forest

Imagine life in the woods without any people around. Hiking trails beginning in the back yard that trench through thousands of acres of the national forest. See more stars than you even knew existed! Hear the owls and the coyotes at night as you sleep on the swinging bed on the front porch. Hang out in the hammock by day and forget about the bustling world outside.

Peace and quiet
My wife and I stayed with some friends and loved the place! It was perfect for us with plenty of room and ammenities. The old farm house is filled with charm and character.

Be Cautious!
There wasn't much good for the cabin. Kari let us check in early but warned us the cleaners might not be done, which was fine when we got there they had not been there yet so we brought our stuff in and waited on the back porch. When the cleaner showed up she didn't know we were gonna be there but after a brief conversation said she was gonna clean, we took a hike around back so we were out of the way. She was getting ready to leave when we got back after she left we came back into the cabin and were surprised to find the cabin no cleaner than it was when we first got there. Only one of the three beds had covers changed the bathroom still had beard clippings on the sink and a razor by the tub just to name a couple of things. We ended up running to the dollar general down the road for cleaning products just so we could stay there. We end up leaving halfway through our trip. When I told the host she reasoned that it was hard to find a cleaner out there. When I contacted Vrbo about a refund they said there was nothing they could do only the host could do that.

A quiet get-away in the woods!
This is an older farm house, a "diamond in the rough" under-going renovations currently. It is surrounded by woods, nothing but peace and quiet and wildlife. We heard a lot of owls at night! The house has everything you will need for your stay, we really enjoyed the peaceful, woodsy environment and sitting on the porches watching the kids play. Lots of woods to hike through. A true get-away from the world. Being there brought back a lot of memories of a home I grew up in. We look forward to going back! 4 stars on cleanliness only because of tools, etc needed for the ongoing renovation.

Property was in a very quiet and remote location in the Talladega National Forest. There is no internet on the property so plan on doing things like reading, talking, hiking and quiet family activities that don't involve a lot of technology. Home has 3 good sized bedrooms and a single bathroom. Kitchen is very nice and there are 2 porches on the property. The owner is very sweet and prompt in responding to questions. As long as you don't HAVE to have internet, you will like staying here. The owner's family owns the coffee shop in Centreville and it is a fantastic coffee shop with a variety of drinks and also lunch and desserts. Overall, a very positive and enjoyable visit.
