A great hotel for families.

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Landscaping around the resort is great with many things such as live penquins in the center area, and the swans at the Swan Court.
Cons: Pool chairs are very uncomfortable.
Location: Lahaina is a great older town which was the original capital of Hawaii. Whalers Village. A helicopter tour will give you a great view of the island.
Check in was excellent after an exhausting long flight from the east coast. I was greeted by the valet when he explained the parking fees for valet versus self parking. I was pleased with the service and had intended to self park. I didn't leave the facility for 2 days and when they brought our car to us there was an 18" key scratch on the drivers door. When I inquired about the parking lots with management if they were separate and why I ask they said they were. Other than this problem which the management team reduced our parking fee on checkout was excellent. The only drawback is the pool area isn't large enough for a hotel of this size. Poolchairs go fast and can't be left unattended for more than an hour.

Not very honest with their clients and don't care

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: The hotel is really pretty. Enjoyed the penguins and the pineapple growing on the premises. The beds, quilts and pillows are amazing. Luau, great.
Cons: Being honest when booking rooms. Discount for rooms with roof view. Happy bartender. Lower price of drinks at the pool. Food expensive.
Location: This hotel is located in a good place. You can drive both ways to see everything. A bit of a drive from the airport, but everything is close enough.
The hotel itself it nice. I had called to get a king bed in which they said ok. Then when we were checking in there was a young couple who was saying they requested a king, looked like they were on their honeymoon. I am thinking to myself, ah, she should have called the hotel like me. NOPE, I go up there to check in and they say the same to me. I say, yes but I called and confirmed. She continues to tell me, yes, we say, we got your request, that doesn't mean you get it. WHAT? Then they put us in this room that is for handicapped people, no problem, but different. The view was AWFUL. They have a patio you can sit out but all you can see is their roof. The patio is beneath the roof. Who designed that? NOT GOOD. Wasn't thinking :(. Went to the bar to wait for something. Bartender not at all friendly nor does he smile. Of course, anyone can have a bad day, but really, people are paying a lot of money on a dream vacation. I have NEVER met a bartender that wasn't friendly. The grounds are nice, enjoyed the penguins and the pineapple growing on the premises. The beds are amazing, nice comfortable quilts and pillows. So good I want to buy a quilt like that. Luau was amazing here. We ordered 2 drinks at the pool. $28.00. WOW, really. Didn't do that again. Everything costs. If you want things to float, covered chair, etc. all cost extra. Maui, itself, So pretty, want to go back.

We LOVED our stay!

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Location: The location is great, right off the beach. It is a bit farther from Whalers Village and Black Rock than we would have liked, but the walk is nice.
The Hyatt Regency on Kaanapali is wonderful! The staff is very helpful, responsive, and friendly. The hotel also has wonderful restaurants which are easy to access. I would recommend getting the package with breakfast included, it made every morning easy and the food is great.

Nice hotel in the beach

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Hotel was very nice, wonderful property, nice pool and friendly staff all though they often seemed short staffed around the pool and getting a drink can take a while. Typical over priced resort prices but I guess it should be expected! All in all a great vacation.

Beautiful view

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Everything
Location: Location right on the beach, beautiful grounds and pools. The longest trip to an activity (helicopter tour) was approx 40 mins away
Would definitely return to this hotel,. The room was nice and super clean. The view from our room was beautiful (ocean view room). If you never wanted to leave the hotel grounds everything you might need was on site. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Honeymooners Paradise

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Very friendly staff and great location. Very pricey, but that is expected when staying at the Hyatt. Wasn't expecting paying for parking, so that was unfortunate. Aside from that, great staff that go out of their way to make you have a wonderful vacation.

Great pool for all ages, specifically kids....

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Pools, Room Upgrade, Food, Service, Layout, Scenery
Cons: Location, Beach
Location: Almost everything you need is onsite. However, you'll need a schutle or drive to shop.
The pools are awesome. The kids pool is perfect for todler to teenage. The swim-up bar in the cave inbetween pools rocks. The location is a little too far from Whaler's Village though. And, the beach leaves tons to be desired. The poolside food is amazing. We got a free room upgrade and great service start to finish. The Luau here is abolutely amazing. I'll have a hard time choosing inbetwen the Hyatt and Westin after trying the Hyatt for the first time. Awesome!

Great resort hotel on the beach

Posted Sep 23, 2014
As a resort hotel, there is a lot packed into the property such as shopping, restaurants, and a very nice pool. There are morning activities and a gym to stay in shape, and one of the best Luau's on the island. The rooms are large and fit the family comfortably. They were doing construction at the time we went and our room was facing that but I knew what I was getting and was rarely in the room during the day anyways.
