Beautiful hotel on beach!

Posted May 3, 2015
If you rented a car you're about 5 minutes from Lahaina and 10 from Kapalua on the main road. You can stay at this resort and never leave it. Whalers village is about a 10 minute walk away, but then there's a shuttle if you prefer. Convenience is not why I chose the Hyatt, it's because I loved it my first time and continue to return!

Great open architecture. Lots of things to do / see. The resort fee and parking is extra (which sucks). All the extra stuff you have to pay for is on the pricey side (not surprising given it's a resort). Strongly recommend the night time stargazing activity.

Great resort located on the west side of Maui

Posted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Located along a very nice beach. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the hotel is well maintained. We really enjoyed our dinner at Japengo's.
Cons: There were too many Hyatt time share reps roaming around asking if we'd seen the new Hyatt Residence property next to the hotel.
Location: Located very close to Whaler's Village - a nice area with shopping and restaurants. We walked there several times during our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Maui Resort and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a resort at a great location on the island of Maui. I have also stayed at the Hyatt on Kauai and, even though I preferred the Kauai Hyatt, the Maui Hyatt is a great resort. The pool area was quite busy most days but we didn't run into many crowds at the property's restaurants. We enjoyed the resort so much that we rarely left the area to explore Maui. We will definitely return to the Hyatt on Maui for another visit in the next couple of years.

The Hyatt Ka'anapali

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Super location. The Staff were very courteous.
Cons: Do away with the resort fee. The items listed for this fee were not used except the water. Really $30 per day? Could have had more shady sports.
Great location, Great staff. Only stayed two nights.

Not really a beach hotel

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The grounds, the staff, restaurant choice and bars.
Cons: Bathroom was very small.
Location: Nice location but beach area was disappointing. Not recommend for very small children.
Overall the hotel was great, the facilities are very good. the grounds are beautiful, pool area is great, rooms are comfortable etc etc. However we were very disappointed with the beach, it's a public beach and according to the hotel they are not allowed to put loungers/umbrellas out. They do rent equipment for the beach and other hotels on this beach have loungers/umbrellas out. The beach area is very small and the sea was frequently rough. Note that the hotel has a $30 per night resort charge, self parking at $14 valet parking at $20 and a breakfast charge of $30, so add at least $80 nightly. You also have to pay for TV service.

Great as always.

Although some may think this property is beginning to show its age, we prefer to see it as merely demonstrating a refinement of character. Charming and almost quaint yet modern enough to satisfy most folks. Beautiful location with well established grounds and exuberant vegetation. A true resort worth exploring.
