Just got back from four nights here. Great location. Great service. Japengo was great restaurant. The others were so- so. The pool was beautiful and even tho the beach is small it was still nice to be so close to it.

Beautiful with really nice staff

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Cons: Paying for parking was the only reason I gave it a 4/5
Was a great place with many options. Staff was accommodating and made us feel welcomed.

Wonderful resort and pools!

Posted Feb 23, 2015
We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon and although we encountered some setbacks (keycard locked us out of our room three times), the resort was wonderful! The room we had was beautiful and the bathroom/closet area actually had enough room to comfortably accommodate 3 weeks worth of clothing without everything getting sandy. Upon arrival the staff told us we could use the neighbouring resort's pool (the timeshare area) to enjoy a pool that wasn't as busy and it was prefect - lots of lounge chairs available and away from the noise of the waterfall. The day we checked out our flight was at midnight but the resort stored our bags for us and gave us access to the private (and clean!) change rooms which had showers and lockers. Because of this we were able to enjoy the pools and beach all day and still be able to clean up before our flight. There are a ton of shops and food options in the resort or close by so you don't need to go far to get things but the restaurants are certainly expensive so having little snacks in the room for breakfast is a good idea. Note that the swim up bar is deceivigly beautiful as it is under the waterfall - it was so amazingly loud down there it was actually empty all day.

Hyatt Resort and Spa

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Cons: Swimming pool and faster elevators.
Location: Snorkeling and Zip lining, whale watching with a beautiful path that extends the length of many hotels.
The hotel is a time share but they don't push it on you, like some hotels. The rooms have been remodeled, and the entrance (Atrium) is pleasing with birds and African Penguins. Although it rates a 4 star, the prices ($20 valet parking, $30 Resort fee) are more on the 5 star level. The Hyatt Residence Club next door has a better pool, and you are entitled to use it. The concierge was knowledgeable, and acquired reservations when others could not.

Beautiful grounds and lobby.....but.........

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: The grounds and the lobby are beautiful
Cons: Read "experience" above
Location: Great dining Merriman's,HulaGrill,Mala,Dukes. Whalers Village, downtown Lahaina..Maui downhill tour,Snorkeling tour. Need a car.
My husband and I were in a "deluxe ocean view room". The view was deluxe, but the room was not. It was very dated and bordered on shabby. The lack of amenities was astounding. No wall mounted magnifying mirror, no "throw away slippers", shower cap, cotton balls, shoe mitt, etc. Also it was very difficult at times to connect our e-readers to wi fi. The furniture was scratched and chipped, and the sliding glass door to the balcony was dirty. The toilet, shower/tub area was extremely cramped. Once in there, it was difficult to turn around. We believe that the pool area is not large enough to accomodate the number of guests in the hotel. Out of our eight day stay, we could only find two unoccupied chaise lounges twice. Upon reading the Guest Services book, we noticed that there was to be a compimentary local newspaper delivered to our room daily. We were there four days before reading this, and so we phoned the proper person who told us to come down and get the paper. The $30 a day resort fee that we paid covers a daily delivered paper, which we eventually received. Otherwise, we find it very difficult to justify the resort fee when we were not able to sit at the pool, have normal amenities, an updated room. We did not use the gym or spa. We did speak to one of the personnel, and she did give us a discount on the resort fee. While there, we phoned Son'z and Japengo directly and made dinner reservations. Upon arriving at said restaurants no reservations had been made

Vacation of a life time

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: The hotel gardens were exceptional, we loved all the wildlife. Sitting having breakfast over looking swan gardens, I think I will miss that the most.
Cons: Absolutely nothing, you nailed it, its perfect, the whole package....
Location: The location was perfect within walking distance to dinning and shopping.
We had the best experience at the Hyatt. they were so friendly and gracious. They automatically upgraded us to a suite with ocean views. The room and the ocean views were breathtaking. It had such a relaxed air about the hotel. We loved it and will return someday.

Beautiful view, facilities, wonderful staff, food was great, we will definitely return. The only downside was the hard sell for the Hyatt timeshares next door.
