Beautiful hotel, Gorgeous grounds.Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: It was clean, gorgeous, friendly staff, valet parking staff were awesome, best location. There was Nothing that we didn't like. Fantastic trip.
Cons: Good question, we had an awesome experience. I can't think of a thing that I'd change. We will go back.
Location: We loved the location. Everything is right at your fingertips. It's very walkable. We walked to Whaler's Village and Black Rock several times.
This was our first trip to Maui and boy, did we get lucky! Our experience was great. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. There are shops and activities and everything you need or want right there. The location is great. Whalers Village and Black Rock are just a little hike away. (We are not young, and we walked it quite a bit) It is also just a short drive to downtown Lahaina. The location really couldn't be better. We would definitely, hands down, choose this hotel again. It was first class all the way.

Mahalo to the Hyatt Regency for a great visit!Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Everything. I honestly can't think of a negative thing about my stay.
Cons: They could give me my own personal free room to vacation anytime that I wanted to come there. But, I know that is just a fantasy or is it?
Location: In no preferential order: 1. On the Beach 2. Pool 3. Whaler's Village 4. good restaurants nearby (808 Grindz, Leoda's, Sangrita) 5. Luau 6.go see Maui
Everything was excellent for us at the Hyatt Regency: the room, the grounds, the staff (concierge, housekeeping, check-in/check-out and the valet). The help was friendly (aloha) never seemed to push for tips (even though they were tipped) and we weren't hounded to buy timeshares (the Marriott Maui really is pushy with it out on the Kaanapali beach walk...I'm glad that I didn't stay there). The Hyatt's grounds are really beautiful. You can literally take 100 pictures of different things/views (from penguins, swans, ducks, landscaping, etc.). The room we received (Partial Ocean view) on the 18th floor exceeded expectations because we could see the ocean, beautiful hills and golf course from the Lanai. I took numerous pictures from the Lanai alone. The Drums Luau was excellent, too. The dancers and musicians were top notch. I wanted to stay longer. Hawaii is expensive, but I have no buyer's remorse for staying at the Hyatt Regency. We stayed there 5 days. In Kaanapali you can drive to Iao Valley to see the needle in less than an hour. It takes barely over an hour to get to Paia. You can see Ho'okipa beach in Paia. It's the biggest beach in terms of surfing. There are also sea turtles there. I didn't use the Concierge to set up shuttles for those visits. I rented a car, which I recommend that people do when they visit Maui. But, the Hyatt also can help people arrange for those kinds of excursions and other excursions such as the Road to Hana and Sunset at Haleakala

A good place to stayPosted Jul 20, 2015
We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt. The entire staff was truly eager for us to have an enjoyable vacation. The only criticism I have is of the lack of soundproofing in the "Tower" part of the hotel. Twice were woken up in the middle of the night by loud guest returning from what sounded like a night of drinking. Other times, we were woken early in the morning by babies crying in the hall around sunrise.

HoneymoonPosted Jul 17, 2015
Cons: Beach chairs would be nice. Or not charge your guests an arm and a leg for the cabanas. Why not make them first come, first serve?
This was a great hotel for our honeymoon in June 2015. Beautiful, and the area was nice. I liked the room set-up, and we had a great view of the beach (even though it was technically considered "partial view"). Walking distance to shopping and other restaurants outside of the property. The luau was entertaining as well. I wish it had more of a beach area. There is just a small strip of sand and NO beach chairs are provided- something I would have expected. What a let down! They have a very nice pool, so that's where we stayed mostly. Even though it seems as though they have packed pool chairs to capacity, it's still not enough. People reserve their chairs early morning and leave for breakfast, so unless you are there by 9am, you will not get a seat. I wish there weren't as many kids since we were on our honeymoon. There were A LOT more than expected.

Cockroaches & unexpected constructionPosted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: The pool
Cons: If there's going to be construction, 1) tell people about it so they can choose not to stay at your hotel 2) don't put them next to it
Location: Great restaurant two doors down from Ohana tacos
We were more disappointed in the Hyatt, than we've ever been, in all the hotels we've ever stayed in. Two reasons: 1) We paid for two oceanfront rooms, and were woken up by jackhammer & construction noises & workmen right outside our door! For some reason, the hotel staff felt that it was perfectly fine to subject us to loud construction noises **all day**, with no warning whatsoever. 2) The rooms were dilapidated. We found cockroaches - one in our original room in the Napili tower and one in a suite in the Lahaina tower that they upgraded to (after we complained about the construction). We've never found cockroaches in all the hotels we've stayed in, during our 12 visits to Hawaii. This was the first and last time I'll stay in a Hyatt.

Cons: The rooms are outdated and could use some upgrading. Not sure how these compare to comparable hotels in the area.
Hyatt management and staff were excellent in responding to our requests that included adjoining rooms and proximity to the elevator for an elderly family member.

Room was dirty. Disappointing!Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: The location was great and the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Thoroughly clean the rooms between guests, no matter how busy it is!
The original room we booked was not ready by the time we arrived (3p) and the front desk assured us that there was a very similar room available. We accepted the room and noticed the counter was sticky and the mini fridge had food/drink stains inside, so I cleaned the areas myself. However, once I saw stains on the toilet seat, I called guest services to request housekeeping ASAP. It took them over an hour to arrive, and we were in the room waiting for them since we didn't think it would take so long. Guest services never apologized for the inconvenience, and I requested a noon checkout (checkout is 11a) hoping they would give me some sort of compensation, but it was denied. We paid a premium price since it was July 4th weekend, and were very disappointed.
