Being situated in the Pacific Ocean has its perks. You can start or end your cruise in Hawaii or take advantage of the cheap hotel deals Hawaii has to offer to experience the many wonders mother nature has in store for you. Humpback whales migrate from Alaskan feeding grounds every winter to holiday in the warm waters surrounding Hawaii. If you're lucky, you might see a frolicking whale leap out of the water during one of many whale-watching catamaran cruises. Equally, dolphins seem to love Hawaiian water, and glass bottom cruises are the ideal way to view these intelligent animals in their natural habitat.

The islands are also home to some of the biggest waves on earth. Waves at Jaws Beach on Maui can reach heights of 70 feet and move at 30 miles per hour. For this reason, it has become something of a Mecca for experienced surfers the world over.

For people who like their sea slightly less choppy, Hawaii also has some of the world's most beautiful snorkeling spots. Molokini, for example, has the clearest water in Hawaii, with visibility often at 200 feet, and is teeming with vibrant aquatic life. Take advantage of Hawaii hotel deals – whether you like your waves big or small - so you can stay at the best hotels in Hawaii to enjoy the islands’ waters.

From the air, a helicopter ride along the Kohala Coast explores stunning sea cliffs opening into the majestic valleys of the Kohala Mountains. Much of Hawaii is not accessible by foot, but a helicopter ride offers an unparalleled vantage above untouched landscape.

    Cultural embrace

The culture of the native Hawaiian people has been enjoying a proud rebirth. The best way to experience this cultural uprising is at a Polynesian Luau, where the history, music, and dance of Hawaii are celebrated by women in grass skirts, men with face paint, and crowds of fire dancers.

Of course, Hawaii had a major part to play in the Second World War, and the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor pays tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.

Be it on land, in the ocean, or from the air, the true power and beauty of nature reveals itself in Hawaii. But while its volcanoes bubble and its waves roar, the people of these islands are able to relax, smile, and enjoy the finer things in life. And when you visit, they'll encourage you to do the same when you stay at hotels in Hawaii – no matter if you prefer luxury hotels, 5 star hotels or enjoy all inclusive hotels in Hawaii. This state like no other is ready for you.

The only thing that we didn't like was that side of the island got a lot of wind and rain during our stay. But a short car ride down south fifteen minutes around island gave us the sunshine we wanted usually and zero to little wind. The concierge there went above and beyond with everything. Diana even went and got us amazing flower bouquet on her own time.

"Large resort with lots of amenities "
We enjoyed our time at the Hilton Waikoloa but my biggest complaint is that it is expensive! $30/day resort fee and $25/self-parking fee/day are outrageous. The food is also expensive, but that is expected with all resorts in Hawaii. Prepare to do a lot of walking, because the resort is spread out, even with the free monorail train and motorboats. The hotel rooms are due for a much needed makeover but at least they're clean. There are plenty of activities ranging from swimming to tennis to snorkeling in the hotel's very own private lagoon, which is adjacent to a dolphin cove, another expensive activity. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a sandy beach on the property. All in all, it's an enjoyable place to stay.

"Nice resort, with good pool "
We stayed 1 nite in Kona for $122, free parking, wifi, 2 nites in volcano, $150 free wifi, free parking, brekky included. Marriot, 199 a night plus a $30 passport resort fee, terrible fee, not worth it, another way for the big companies to take you for more. The resort was nice, pool was great, bar was nice. we didn't use the restaurants, or wifi. Or anything else . I'll always go to the smaller b N b rather than the large resorts.

    "Fairmont Orchid"
From the minute you arrive at the Fairmont you are greeted with a leigh and heartfelt Aloha. The rooms grounds and restaurants are incredible. You do not need to leave the Fairmont it has everything. The views of the beach and lagoon are the perfect Hawaiian vista and a short walk from your room through lush gardens. The lagoon is perfect for kids and a great place to spot sea turtles. Our daughter spent hours in the pool and lagoon snorkeling paddle boarding and Kayaking. The Fairmont and their restaurants have an open outdoor airy feel and the food is delicious . The Fairmont Orchid is a tropical paradise .The people that work there make it a resort that we will return to soon.
