Being situated in the Pacific Ocean has its perks. You can start or end your cruise in Hawaii or take advantage of the cheap hotel deals Hawaii has to offer to experience the many wonders mother nature has in store for you. Humpback whales migrate from Alaskan feeding grounds every winter to holiday in the warm waters surrounding Hawaii. If you're lucky, you might see a frolicking whale leap out of the water during one of many whale-watching catamaran cruises. Equally, dolphins seem to love Hawaiian water, and glass bottom cruises are the ideal way to view these intelligent animals in their natural habitat.

The islands are also home to some of the biggest waves on earth. Waves at Jaws Beach on Maui can reach heights of 70 feet and move at 30 miles per hour. For this reason, it has become something of a Mecca for experienced surfers the world over.

For people who like their sea slightly less choppy, Hawaii also has some of the world's most beautiful snorkeling spots. Molokini, for example, has the clearest water in Hawaii, with visibility often at 200 feet, and is teeming with vibrant aquatic life. Take advantage of Hawaii hotel deals – whether you like your waves big or small - so you can stay at the best hotels in Hawaii to enjoy the islands’ waters.

From the air, a helicopter ride along the Kohala Coast explores stunning sea cliffs opening into the majestic valleys of the Kohala Mountains. Much of Hawaii is not accessible by foot, but a helicopter ride offers an unparalleled vantage above untouched landscape.

    Cultural embrace

The culture of the native Hawaiian people has been enjoying a proud rebirth. The best way to experience this cultural uprising is at a Polynesian Luau, where the history, music, and dance of Hawaii are celebrated by women in grass skirts, men with face paint, and crowds of fire dancers.

Of course, Hawaii had a major part to play in the Second World War, and the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor pays tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.

Be it on land, in the ocean, or from the air, the true power and beauty of nature reveals itself in Hawaii. But while its volcanoes bubble and its waves roar, the people of these islands are able to relax, smile, and enjoy the finer things in life. And when you visit, they'll encourage you to do the same when you stay at hotels in Hawaii – no matter if you prefer luxury hotels, 5 star hotels or enjoy all inclusive hotels in Hawaii. This state like no other is ready for you.

    "Great location....staff needs improvement"
We liked the hotel, but found the staff not friendly. We never really felt welcomed, even at check in. We were left to find out a lot about the property and area on our own. We went to Rum Fire one night (hotel night spot), and found it very difficult to get service. We seemed like more of a nuisance to the server, and it was not even busy. Because of this, we actually choose to eat and drink at other places in Waikiki. I would have given it a higher rating if the staff was friendlier.

    "Excellent location and service"
We stayed 11 days at Kapalua's Ritz Carlton during Christmas time. The weather is near perfect (13 in of rain / year, temperature always between 72 and 78). Some highlights of our stay: snorkeling at the Kapalua Bay beach and the Honolua Bay beach, both within a few minutes drive. The game room was open during the season with billiards and Wii games, a good way to take a break while doing (complimentary) laundry or enjoying a morning drink at the Aina market located on premise (cheaper than the $40 buffer breakfast). The pools are typical of the Ritz, with two sections reserved to Adults. Everybody scampers off at 5pm somehow but you still can enjoy the pools late at night. The food was not a highlight, we tried everything and kept being underwhelmed - i.e. the onsite restaurants are fine if outrageously pricey, but in no way memorable. The service staff was uniformly excellent - friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beach right outside of the hotel, although the waves were exceedingly strong and the flags were red most of the time. Shuffle board and bocce, tennis and basketball, lots of hammocks, the coast trail passing through - lots of good times.

We enjoyed every minute. Words can not describe how beautiful this place is. The room was clean and large. Very comfortable. Each meal we had was wonderful. The view is breathtaking. We enjoyed everything we did. The facility is kept very clean. Lots of staff to make sure everything is perfect. The place is so large they have a monorail and a boat that will take you from place to place. They have their own dolphins you can swim with. Beautiful tropical fish in the lani beach area to swim with and see. We enjoyed every minute.
