Montevideo, Uruguay Hotel Rooms at the Independent

2.5 rating? don't understand that. it's the highest rated place on trip advisor. very small place in a great neighborhood. residential area but easy to reach anywhere from here and who couldn't like eduardo and carla? roof terrace with a fridge and microwave and you have your own key so you can come and go as you please. i got the private room with shared bath and spent a lot of time in the living room with other guests in the evening. solar water heater worked great even though it was cloudy. if you want fancy go elsewhere. if you like friendly easygoing people this place is nice.

Very nice stay in Montevideo. Hotel is in perfect condition and very well kept, also well located in Pocitos, close to beach. Staff was very friendly and breakfast are impressive with choice and taste. truly recommend!!

Great location adjacent shopping & restaurants, hotel provided 2 glasses of good wine on the house as well as a excellent breakfast. We will be back as we live in Uruguay and travel to Montevideo quite often.

There was plenty of activities and people during the day, but in the evening it was pretty quiet so you needed to venture away from the area for any evening activities.

No problems with hotel or staff. Everything as advertised. Would stay there again.

Great stay. Nice hotel. Good breakfast with decent choices. I would stay here again, in fact I tried to book another night later in the week and the hotel was full so we had to find another hotel. I had a car and the parking garage underneath the hotel was convenient and safe.

It was a pretty good hotel in all! I'd recommend it to any family member or friend who goes to Montevideo and searches for a hotel.

Don t worry if you don't speak Spanish , it's very easy to communicate with the staff of this hotel , because they care.

Good hotel, convenient location, great breakfast. Request a room at the front of hotel, balcony will overlook the street. The rooms at th back of the hotel are overlooked by shabby apartment blocks.
