While it may be a temptation to simply sit back and relax when visiting Montezuma, keep in mind that the surrounding region's diverse scenic and cultural delights are never more than a day trip away. Should you be searching for more ways to enjoy the region, check out the Tortuga Island and Curu National Wildlife Refuge in the vicinity of Curu, which is roughly 14 miles (23 kilometers) to the southwest of Montezuma.
About 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the east of Montezuma is Jaco, an important regional city home to Planetarium Arcade, Teatro Jaco and Jaco Beach. Jaco Library and Learning Center and Neo Fauna are also good places to spend a little time.
Unwind the way the locals do in this area. Try sunbathing and wildlife watching while you are in the area.
Food is an integral part of any culture and a wonderful way to get to know somewhere. Pargo (red snapper) and ceviche (marinated raw fish) are two meals to taste.
At the end of your holiday in Montezuma, put the lens cap back on your camera, spend your last of your colones on last-minute souvenirs, and bid a fond Adiós (farewell) to this wonderful spot.
