Excellent location

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Excellent location easy to get to and most importantly as lone traveller I felt safe walking back late at night. However the hotel needs a make over which I have been informed is going to happen in jan 2015, it is dark, dinghy and has a musty smell too it. The room was clean, bathroom/ shower were good again clean . Coffee machine was fine .. Bring your tea and travel kettle if you want tea. Breakfast was good - continental. If you want something else there are plenty of local diners/bakeries/ delis nearby Staff pleasant and friendly. If you looking for luxury then not for you but if you dropping stuff and spending you time out its comfortable.

Very noisy location

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Maintenance, Update facilities, e.g. flat screen t.v. Replace old, large footprint, armoire, with wall units. Place the frig at a workable height.
Location: Handy to the N-S subway. Empire State Bldg, Macy's, Madison Square Gdns
Smallest room we've ever stayed in. Bathroom had cracked washbasin no amount of cleaning could fix. In room convenience facility consisted of a single cup coffee maker, sitting on a 15" high refrigerator, sat on the floor, tucked in the corner of the room. No closets to hang clothes or store luggage. Mattress that appeared to have adopted permanent sag. A single elevator used by cleaning staff and guests alike left one with long wait times early in the morning. Stairwell and carpeting that looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in a while. "Street noise" level all through the night was at times very high. Window blinds that didn't operate "Continental Breakfast" facilities left a lot to be desired; The food was okay but the room to small for the number of guests staying there and the equipment poorly arranged and maintained (e.g. a single, double-slice toaster with controls that didn't operate and judging by the burn marks and general appearance has seen better days); People forced to sit and eat in the lobby because of lack of seating.

Just disappointing

Posted Oct 13, 2014
The hotel is terribly old, old carpets, old furniture, old AC, old and uncomfortable mattress. most of the rooms has a very small windows facing a small dirty patio and the rooms are terribly dark. mattress are very old and uncomfortable and the halls the carpets seems very old and dirty. I would not recommend AT ALL.

Comfortable hotel in good location

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: quiet, clean and comfortable bed.
Cons: disliked breakfast with plastic knives and spoons.
Location: plenty of shops and places to eat, subway 1 minute away.
I was looking for a not too expensive hotel for a business trip and was very satisfied. I had a room on the 10th floor which was fairly small but ok. It was clean and had coffee making facilities and a fridge. Breakfast was included which was a basic continental server on plastic plates with plastic knives and forks. The hotel staff were efficient. The decoration was basic. The location was handy for my office and within walking distance of places to eat and the subway. Overall value for money.

I will be back

All staff are courteous, eager to help. As a guest, I don't think I could ask for more for their services. I've been to five star hotels, but I never felt such personal touch. I would be happier if I didn't have to bear with the smell from the restaurant downstairs. But the level of services I received definitely made up for this. The location is a plus too.

Like a hospital

Posted Aug 9, 2014
The pictures look NOTHING like what my room was. The ceiling reminded me of those hospital panels, and the white light made everything extra sterile. There was no natural light at any time of day. But at least it was clean, although a little old. The elevators were old

Pros: It is ok
The room is small, but location is good. It is cheap and good for a solo traveller.
