"The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...

"This is actually the second time I’ve stayed here. Dorm room is nice, you get privacy in your own pod and the traditional Japanese mattress is comfy. Although prices have gone up, I paid almost the same for one night this year as I did for two last year. The hostel didn’t seem as busy either. I was only staying for one night so chose this place based on its good location (close to JR line) however for the price if I was staying for longer I would probably check out one of the other highly rated...

"Amazing location, stone's throw away from 2 train lines (just a stop away from Namba), 2 subway lines and a tram line (which isn't very useful). Shinsekai is just across the street where you can find food, there is also a Don Quijote Mega which operates nearly round the clock). My main complains are the room design isn't optimised, making the already small room even smaller and walls are really thin (I could hear my neighbour snoring)."

"I was given a single room as requested but I asked to move as the noise from the hallway was just too bad. The door didn’t close well and I could hear the people in the hallway incredibly well to the point it sounded as it there wasn’t even a door in the way. The room was also unfinished and had wires hanging out of the ceiling. When I got moved into a dormitory room it was like being moved into a different hostel. The room was clean and quiet. A really upgrade! A fantastic hostel for groups....
