Pros: everything
Cons: bigger tv
We arrived and the staff our room keys and paperwork all filled out. They were on top of everything and very courteous. The accommodations were actually very nice for an older place and the rooms were huge. So big that they really could use a larger tv in the room

convenient location

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: convenience, location was great for our purposes, it had a pool and hot tub, and they were gracious about allowing our local family to use the pool.
Location: many restaurants nearby, family down the road, car rental place reasonably close,
Aside from a little plumbing problem, which was dealt with quickly, we found this hotel to be everything we needed.

NO Frills No service

Posted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: The locale in respect to my work
Cons: Service, Service, Service!!!
Location: Handy to major thorofare
The best thing going for this hotel is the price, The staff is inattentive to concerns of those staying there, ie; I am working in the area and have stayed on several occasions, I have been assigned the same room # 208 each time and have mentioned to staff the bathtub drain is clogged, no response, I have mentioned that the drink machine is empty yet every time I try to purchase a drink the machine is still empty, they have a coffee maker in the room, I make coffee every morning, on many mornings they have not replaced the coffee or sugar used on the previous day, they serve a continental breakfast at 0700 too late for any working person to take advantage of, half the time I remake the bed because it is sloppily thrown together, if it was not for the location in respect to my work and the price , I would not stay at this motel.

Convenience vs. excellence

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: the pool area
Cons: quality of bathroom/sink fixtures, carpeting, toiletry products (from China, no less), Continental breakfast
We stayed Thanksgiving night for the convenience of being near family, but I was disappointed in the quality of the room and its amenities...all designed to cut corners, apparently (note the toiletries made in China). The carpeting in the room was old and stained, as was the small couch. Fixtures were cracked and a bit off-putting. Sheets seemed clean, however, and bed comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was not appealing to us, but for the pancake and cereal crowd, was adequate, I presume. A pleasant surprise was the small pool which I used, undisturbed, the next morning. It was almost worth the price of the room, as it was clean, wonderfully warm, and well-maintained.

Won't ever stay here again

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: Leaving. We didn't even stay for the free breakfast because we were afraid to eat there and we needed fresh air.
Cons: The carpet, the furnishings, the bedcovers, the wallpaper. Get rid of the smell!
Location: We were in town visiting a college, but had difficulty finding anywhere to eat.
The worst part was the entire building smelled bad. The carpet was old, worn, and stained. There were cobwebs in the room. My daughter slept in a sleeping bag that she got out of the car because she was afraid she would smell like the the bedding. It is a disgrace to the America's Best Value Inn and Suites that this motel can continue to operate in this condition. The very brief encounters with front desk staff were alright. The next night I stayed in a great place in Portland for only $6 more per night. This motel was way overpriced!

Pleasantly surprized

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Nothing fancy yet everything needed
Cons: Heating system either on or off, not thermostatically controlled. Continental breakfast made available at 0600. replace TV's w/larger screens
Location: Located on Main thorofare, handy location, plenty of fast food, not so much fine dining
Great value, quiet ,comfortable and convenient. Close proximity to my work location, little disappointed in lack of major restaurants locally

Basic decent chain hotel

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: softer beds, make sure bath tubs have stoppers
Location: near Pacific University, across from McMenamins Grand Lodge
Pros: located close to Pacific Univ which was our weekend destination, okay price. Waffle maker in continental breakfast Cons: hard bed, specifically chose for having a hot tub, and the heater was broken on it. Thought I'd take a hot bath instead, nope. No bathtub stopper, but I did buy one for $1.97 at a nearby walmart.

The hotel is very close to Pacific University.

Pros: I like that the hotel is affordable and clean.
The staff are very friendly. The only drawback was they were still cleaning our room when we went there. We had to wait in the hall. Room prices are very reasonable.

Nice staff but rooms are not good.

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Nice staff but rooms are dirty and smell bad. For the prices you can get something better.
