Oregon Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

This Pacific Northwest state offers an astonishing variety of scenery and things to do from the urban vibe of Portland to the high desert country of the east to beaches along the coast. Oregon hotels range from funky and eclectic boutique lodgings in Portland to luxury chains, rustic ranch houses, and more, and a cheap Oregon hotel deal can mean the opportunity to see more of this diverse state.

Portland is a fun city known for its excellent restaurant scene, yearly Rose Festival, microbrews, and music scene among other attractions. The climate is mild enough to make it a year-round destination although the best weather is from July to September. Powell’s, the nation’s largest bookstore, is a must for book lovers, while children and their parents alike will enjoy the exhibits at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. The country’s largest urban park, Forest Park, offers miles of hiking trails.

Hiking is big in the rest of the state as well, and Oregon is a top destination for outdoor lovers. Visitors will find stunning scenery just a short drive from the city, and Mt. Hood is the skiing destination of choice for most Portlanders. Skiing is popular in other parts of the state as well, including Bend to the south, where a number of resorts may offer Oregon hotel packages. Cycling, rafting, and other outdoor activities are popular throughout the state too.

The Cascade range of mountains divides the eastern from the western part of the state and marks a significant change in both terrain and climate. Eastern Oregon is ranch and high desert country, and visitors can take in rodeos, visit the John Day Fossil Beds, and retrace parts of the route of 19th-century explorers Lewis and Clark. The best rates and prices on rooms can be found with advance reservations, and it’s also worth asking about a special discount or other cheap hotel deals in Oregon.

To the south, Ashland hosts one of the largest and most popular Shakespeare festivals in the world. Along the coast, towns such as Coos Bay and Lincoln offer art galleries, seafood, and antique shops. Oregon hotel deals can make it possible for visitors to take in more attractions of the state such as these, and many hotels in Oregon can help to arrange activities for their guests.

    "Middle of downtown Portland"
Lobby is great with the eateries. I had a newbie checking me in and his computer was "down" so I waited by the couches as he said he would come and get me when his computers were working. Failing to do so, I noticed another guest was helped before me. So I went back to the counter and the same gentlemen helped and needed assistance from his co-worker. He was apologetic and because of his mistake he said he gave me a room upgrade and better wi-fi service. Needlessly to say, I did not get a room upgrade and even though it looked like I was on the best plan for internet services, it was still very slow in my room. (Can't imagine what a standard room OR internet service is like!?) I could have done without the empty promises... The gyms (there were one in each hotel tower was very small and did not have many machines.) The room attendants do a good job in keeping the rooms clean and the valets are very friendly. Concierge could be a little more pleasant.

    "Nice getaway"
Everything was above and beyond my expectations. The room was comfortable, clean and was surprised to find I got a balcony. Wasn't there long enough to use the spa, but if it was anything like the rest of the hotel, I'm sure it was beautiful!!

Staff was very friendly. Loft room was spacious. Indoor pool/hot tub looks out to beach which is nice. The building was just a little old and needed some updates.

    "Very nice place."
We stayed two nights at the Rivertides Suites and had a very nice time. The staff was very nice and seemed to really care about our enjoyment. I really liked the layout of the room we had. A very nice kitchen, sitting/TV area, comfortable bed, nice bath with a jetted tub although we didn't use it, and most importantly, it was clean. There was even a stacking washer and dryer for people who were staying longer than just a weekend. The continental breakfast was great with lots of choices. The location of the motel is very convenient and close enough to the city center to walk to restaurants and shops. We will stay here on our next trip to Seaside.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated, but our room was excellent. We had a balcony, so we could see the ocean. The room was very clean and everything worked just perfect. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good and the coffee was always hot. Would recommend to friends for their next stay at the beach.

    "Best stay in Lincoln city"
We took a one week trip down the Oregon and California coast and this room was the best view and room on our trip. Our adult son had his own room, it was recently updated with a kitchen that was a nice surprise. We truly enjoyed having a fireplace and the safety and security to leave our sliding door open all night to enjoy the wonderful ocean air and sounds.
