"Pros: beautiful hotel, very serene, pool area amazing (though some cushions ripped up)seems half empty so seems quite private, for breakfast they can also have the chef make you an omlette or avocado toast. Definitely felt like we stayed at a very nice place for the money compared to everything else in San Pedro. Best part is if your tour leaves before they serve breakfast they will pack you a to go breakfast with several courses. Also lots of cute little spots to hangout. Provide a welcome drink (non alcoholic). Cons: pool is always cold despite it being 90 degrees outside, the restaurant is not good. Had the lamb which was the most expensive thing on the menu and there were literally 3 bites of meat on there. Also before our arrival they messaged to ask if we want food made before the kitchen closes and when we wanted to order they said due to issues kitchen was actually closed. Upon checkin we were also told we had a massage included but had to book in advance. When we went to book they told us we didn’t need booking and to come back the next day at a certain time. When we came they said we needed a booking and they wouldn’t have availability until after our checkout. It also turned out to just be a 5 or 10 minute head massage."

"The hostel was clean and safe and I had a private washroom. The staff were great and friendly, however no one spoke English which is ok but the wifi was spotty so translation was challenging at times. It is off the main drag so good if you enjoy quiet but bad for meeting peole and socializing. There is a good restairant el diablo which is about 8 minutes walk from the property and some shops to get snacks and water close by. Also a market to get fresh fruit. The hostel does also offer a free breakfast which was tasty and filling."

"The central tree in the patio is an awesome place to relax after a walk or visit around one of the many sites in the San Pedro surroundings. The small pool is refreshing, and having the restaurant/bar makes it very pleasurable. And Don Raul is very nicely located. You can walk anywhere."

"I did not stay here. Room was hot, no hot water Restaurant was not operating. Receptionist agreed room were not acceptable and no charge would be made. We went elsewhere. But charges were made anyway"

"Casa Turipite is in a residential neighborhood a short walk from the main drag in San Pedro. We stayed there three nights. There was not automatic hot water in our room the first night so we had to wait for the manager, who does not live on-site, to come over and turn it on. When we got back to the Hostal the next evening, she was there and said we should move to another room that had automatic hot water, something we did not request but very much appreciated. The host also made us snacks every morning since our tours left very early before the breakfast. Hot drinks are available 24 hours a day in the kitchen. There is no heating, but a lot of blankets. The rooms were very well appointed, and the beds comfortable. "
