From Puli, it's about 18 miles (29 kilometers) to the north to Taichung and 70 miles (113 kilometers) to the south to Kaohsiung.
Be sure to check out the Lungnan Natural Lacquerware Museum or the New Era Sculpture Park while you are in Puli.
Taiwan is dotted with cultural and natural attractions, from firm tourist favorites to hidden gems that still await discovery. You'll find Lugu, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Ku Kuan 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the south.
While you are staying in Puli, why don't you make a day trip to Taichung. Approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) to the north, this regional city is where you can find Taichung Confucius Temple, Wan He Temple and Chungyo Department Store. If you are after more entertainment why not stop by Taichung Metropolitan Opera House, Shinkong Mitsukoshi Department Store and Taichung City Hall before you head back to Puli.
