Its all about the viewPosted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: The view, the pool, the helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: New furnishings, updated showers
My wife and I stayed four nights last week and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was exceptional. The bell man carried our bags up and down the steep stairs at check-in and check-out, the ladies at reception were warm and gracious, helping us with requests and questions. The waitress at the pool was kind and quick with a drink and clean towel. The view was incredible. Words and pictures can't do it justice.. A couple of weddings (per-day) add to the fun vibe of the place. We met guests from many country's, all were happy to be there.. A few minor negatives; The breakfast was pretty bad really. The cave-like rooms are interesting but the furnishings are outdated and the bathrooms don't have shower heads fixed to the wall head high, they are the kind you have to hold in your hand and wash your hair. Lastly, the rooms have a musty odor, not real bad, but you can smell it and we noticed our wet cloths took more than a day to dry out. Like all the places with a view of the Caldera, you pay a lot for the view. If not for the view I would have not been happy paying what I did.

Only bay view, no servicePosted Aug 20, 2013
I'm a big traveler and this is the first time when I heard from the receptionist that I might be crazy... You are not mistaken! This is what she said..... I heard it when I asked for a possibility to change a tiny fridge in the room because I bought some staff for breakfast for my family. And I bought it because the breakfast in the hotel was so miserable that I couldn't let my family such a start of a day. Overall, the staff - I mean two ladies at the reception desk - are SO ignorant and hardly welcoming that I wonder who let them into hospitality business. Some rooms don't have a window (we were placed into such room at the beginning). When I insisted on changing the room the receptionist called it "an upgrade". In reality it was a room with a window... What is beautiful about this hotel is the bay view. But it has nothing to do with the service or/and facilities.

Beautiful ViewPosted Aug 6, 2013
Beautiful view of Caldera! Perfect balcony for enjoying your view, relaxing and sipping your favorite beverage after a beautiful day of enjoying the sites. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in Santorini. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very attentive and courteous. Great location for a few nearby restaurants and shopping.

Beautiful view, Fantastic staffPosted Jun 13, 2011
We were in for a wedding being held at Dana Villas, and Cliff Side Suites is about a 30 second walk away. The hotels are all built into the cliff and overlap and intertwine with each other. It was a little bit hard to find the entrance, but once we knew where it was it was easy to get to. There were many shops and cafes on the pedestrian only street just outside. Ours was one of the only hotels (and even restaurants) that did not have a sign saying not to flush paper, and we found that to be a comfort more like home. Our room was bigger than we expected, and cute and cave-like. We had a patio that we shared with the room beside us, but most of the patios weren't occupied when we were out. The patio had two tables and 4 chairs, as well as 4 lounge chairs. Anything we needed, that staff was there with it right away, and with a smile. The cafe on the little road we spend a lot of time at was called Fresh, and has the best chocolate cake (with nutella spread in it) and spinach pies. There is a restaurant the staff at our hotel recommended called Mama Theira, just at the top of the cliff, and it was spectacular. We enjoyed everything about our stay, and had a very hard time leaving. My husband had expected from the pictures for the hotel to be a 5 star, and it probably is not, by north american standards, but most things there are slightly more rustic and down to basics. He was pleased with the hotel, and can't wait to go back.

Santorini SunsetsPosted Aug 6, 2010
We felt these suites were centrally located - in terms of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. The view of the sunset each evening from our deck chairs was wonderful. The reception staff at was friendly and helpful - gave us good suggestions as to what we might like to do, where we might like to go, what we might like to eat.... The breakfast each day was nicely laid out, food was tasty. Our only concern was with maintenance - the bathroom had a cracked toilet seat which was noted by staff, but was not dealt with during our four day stay. Note: Staying here you must be able/prepared to do a lot of walking and be able to walk up and down many stairs each day.
