Recently built high quality 5-star hotel in the mountains, all luxuries included. Large room, perfect mountain view from the window, very quiet at night. Area has no traffic and almost no people now (we were there before ski season). Shops and restaurants are 500 metres below, easily accessible on free cable car.

Arrived early on the train and the hotel staff let us check in early. They were great and rooms as described. Our only issue was with registration. The law is when you move from place to place you are required to get registered if you are a foreigner and the limit is 7 days if you are not yet registered for the first time, and 5 days if you already have been registered. My daughter and her friends were gone 6 days becuase of train travel and we picked this hostel becuase in the Expedia ad it clearly states they register guests. They stated they only do this if you are at their hostel for 7 days adn in Sochi it is no big deal. They are not foreigners and it is a BIG DEAL and as a foreigner if you run into the wrong corrupt militia they will give you a hassle, not let you go and try and get bribes. If you carry current registrations, you are at much much less risk of this. If you do not you are at risk. I have traveled to Russia for 23 years now. I have been through a lot of situations especially with corrupt Gai and Militia. When this hostel did not register my daughter I was not plased with this. The owners need to train their staff. it is not the staffs fault, it is the owners fault or the managers. Charge 200 rubles if you must, but give foreigners their registration. Once you leave Sochi and go to other cities especially in the KavMinVody area you need this registration. This is not an option and needs to be corrected. At least correct the Expedia ad.

The hotel is not in Sochi, but in Adler, a more modest suburb which is 45 min. from Sochi. No one speaks english; it is not a place where many international tourists would visit.
The rooms are basic but good enough. The breakfasts are fine.
The route to the hotel is very pleasant; with bakeries and chicken roasting on a spit.

The location is perfect; just above the beach and promenade, a short walk to the harbor and main shopping areas, and adjacent to a park and museum. The hotel is upscale in the lobby and common areas. The room was a bit worn but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was spectacular in its variety and quality plus they had a piano player and old Charlie Chaplin movie going. Staff was friendly and English speaking.

The hotel has its own private beach and is close to a promenade where there are lots of souvenir shops and park that follows the coast line for a long distance. The hotel room appeared to be newly renovated, including a very modern bathroom with a glass walk-in shower. The balcony overlooked the pool area and the sea in the distance. A full breakfast was included. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
