We stayed one night of Labor Day weekend. We were in the house part of the hotel, not the motel. The room was very tastefully decorated. It would have been great if we could have opened all the windows. One was painted shut and the other 2 would only stay up when we propped them with hangers. Even sticks to hold the windows open would have been helpful. Very nice place, nice, helpful staff. We will be going back. Also pleasant atmosphere at the restaurant/bar. We'll try the restaurant next time.

Warm, welcoming, clean and affordable

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Staff, room, location
Cons: A few more selections at breakfast.
Location: Main street, Rec path, AJs for bike rentals.
Was unsure when we booked at such a great price. Was half-expecting a mediocre experience. It was nothing like that. Staff were very friendly. Room was nicer than expected with a country style to it. Bed was big and comfortable. Easy access to Main street, shops on Mountain, the Rec Path and only a short drive to nearby sites, restaurants or activities. The continental breakfast was included which was a bonus. Would definitely go back.

Motel 6 Quality for Hampton Inn rates

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Bed firm, room spacious. Handy to Stowe center.
Cons: 1970's painted paneling has got to go. Get the must out. Clean covers of pet hair.
Sent to a "pet-friendly" room and charged an extra 20 percent for our hypoallergenic dog. For the extra fee, you would think they would clean everyting between pets. Duvet was furry. Sink light not functioning. No TP. Decidedly musty smell on arrival.

Cons: Everything!
Was sent to an adjacent Coach House, room was terrible, dilapidated furniture, Drapes torn, would not close. Went back to desk and returned key. Guy at desk offered another room in main building which was OK. Trash had been piled in hallway and remained there thru our stay. We were very disappointed in our stay there and would never recommend that anyone stay there. Poor management!!

Best thing about the hotel was the location.

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: There should be a member of the staff in charge of the complimentary breakfast, so items are replenished.
Location: The location is right next to the village and reached by a pedestrian covered bridge. There are some lovely shops and some nice restaurants in Stowe.
We stayed in the adjacent building to the lovely old inn. Considering the inexpensive rate we had paid, it was okay for one night. However, the building was pretty shabby. They definitely need to invest some money and fix up this place. Also, the complimentary breakfast was the most minimal I had ever seen, as they were out of most of the items. And there was still another hour left for the breakfast time.

Slumming in VT

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Nothing was appealing
Cons: Front desk staff could care, the maids could actually clean rooms, when there is an issue the manager could apologize and make the situation right
I was extremely disappointed that the room wasn't clean and beds were unmade..When I complained they gave me another room which didn't even have soap or towels. The desk staff wasn't on site the next morning to speak to and I had to call numerous times to explain the situation. No apology was made and nothing was done to rectify the situation. I felt ripped off having paid for accomodations that were no better than sleeping in my car. Who wants to stay in a hotel where they don't care about the guest experience? Every paying customer should have a clean room and basic things like soap and towels. I would not recommend you waste your money staying at this overpriced hotel when there are so many others that care about providing a good customer experience.

Disappointing hotel could be so lovely

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The location was great for exploring this part of Vermont.
Cons: Everything! Hot drinks could be so easily provided in the main hotel during the day instead they directed us to the local garage.
We were given a back motel room, dirty, torn carpet, window didn't close, window frame didn't fit, painting flaking, tiles in bathroom cracked, toilet cistern top broken, room damp and musty, rubbish under beds including the missing TV remote. No coffee or tea available in room or the hotel. Staff were polite and apologetic for the small breakfast in advance. Appears to be running on a budget, the main hotel from what we saw looked lovely but motel part needs closing down. We spent as little time as possible in the room and grinned and bared it for the two nights we were there. On a positive note the breakfast was fresh and sufficient for us.

The hotel housekeeper, Darla, was Terrific!

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Location: Our main goal was to visit the Von Trapp Family Lodge (2 mi. away) without the huge expense and we were able to do that.
We arrived an hour before checkin and Darla and her staff hustled to prepare our room. They were very efficient and the room was clean and beautiful.
