Motel 6 Quality for Hampton Inn ratesPosted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Bed firm, room spacious. Handy to Stowe center.
Cons: 1970's painted paneling has got to go. Get the must out. Clean covers of pet hair.
Sent to a "pet-friendly" room and charged an extra 20 percent for our hypoallergenic dog. For the extra fee, you would think they would clean everyting between pets. Duvet was furry. Sink light not functioning. No TP. Decidedly musty smell on arrival.

Was sent to an adjacent Coach House, room was terrible, dilapidated furniture, Drapes torn, would not close. Went back to desk and returned key. Guy at desk offered another room in main building which was OK. Trash had been piled in hallway and remained there thru our stay. We were very disappointed in our stay there and would never recommend that anyone stay there. Poor management!!

Best thing about the hotel was the location.Posted Aug 18, 2014
Cons: There should be a member of the staff in charge of the complimentary breakfast, so items are replenished.
Location: The location is right next to the village and reached by a pedestrian covered bridge. There are some lovely shops and some nice restaurants in Stowe.
We stayed in the adjacent building to the lovely old inn. Considering the inexpensive rate we had paid, it was okay for one night. However, the building was pretty shabby. They definitely need to invest some money and fix up this place. Also, the complimentary breakfast was the most minimal I had ever seen, as they were out of most of the items. And there was still another hour left for the breakfast time.

Slumming in VTPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Nothing was appealing
Cons: Front desk staff could care, the maids could actually clean rooms, when there is an issue the manager could apologize and make the situation right
I was extremely disappointed that the room wasn't clean and beds were unmade..When I complained they gave me another room which didn't even have soap or towels. The desk staff wasn't on site the next morning to speak to and I had to call numerous times to explain the situation. No apology was made and nothing was done to rectify the situation. I felt ripped off having paid for accomodations that were no better than sleeping in my car. Who wants to stay in a hotel where they don't care about the guest experience? Every paying customer should have a clean room and basic things like soap and towels. I would not recommend you waste your money staying at this overpriced hotel when there are so many others that care about providing a good customer experience.

Disappointing hotel could be so lovelyPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The location was great for exploring this part of Vermont.
Cons: Everything! Hot drinks could be so easily provided in the main hotel during the day instead they directed us to the local garage.
We were given a back motel room, dirty, torn carpet, window didn't close, window frame didn't fit, painting flaking, tiles in bathroom cracked, toilet cistern top broken, room damp and musty, rubbish under beds including the missing TV remote. No coffee or tea available in room or the hotel. Staff were polite and apologetic for the small breakfast in advance. Appears to be running on a budget, the main hotel from what we saw looked lovely but motel part needs closing down. We spent as little time as possible in the room and grinned and bared it for the two nights we were there. On a positive note the breakfast was fresh and sufficient for us.

The hotel housekeeper, Darla, was Terrific!Posted Aug 17, 2014
Location: Our main goal was to visit the Von Trapp Family Lodge (2 mi. away) without the huge expense and we were able to do that.
We arrived an hour before checkin and Darla and her staff hustled to prepare our room. They were very efficient and the room was clean and beautiful.

Summer StayPosted Aug 16, 2014
Checked in at 4pm and had to wait because the handy man had my key to the room. Thought I was going to have a room in the main building and it ended up In the back building that was cold and run down. Stayed two nights and the they did not service the room. The continental breakfast was limited for such a nice looking restaurant

Beware of the advertising!Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Work on privacy (curtains) and clean, comfortable linens. Be honest with your advertising.
Location: The location was great.
From the photos on the website I was expecting a wonderful inn with lots of history. We had reserved two rooms but unfortunately the rooms we were given at first were terribly below standard. We were given rooms in a motel-like building. The rooms smelled musty, the blankets had holes and the wall of windows had only thin panel curtains with one window totally lacking any kind of curtain. I talked to the front desk who did give us another room in the same bldg. but said I would have to pay much more to get a room in the main inn. The next morning we looked for the "included" breakfast and found that it was a plate of muffins sitting on a table at the entry of the closed restaurant. That day the staff did arrange to move both families into the main inn for our last night where the accommodations were much closer to my expectations. I can't say enough about how courteous the staff were but I do feel obligated to warn others about the facility itself. Check to see where your room will be located. There are such extremes at this establishment. I so looked forward to this place and was so very disappointed.

Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: The annex building needs work- the grounds could be more manicured.
Location: The inn is in a great location just a couple minute walk from the center of Stowe which has several shops with local items for sale.
The main inn and public rooms are charming, as well as the porch. The dining room has a beautiful bar and is very pleasant. The food room was delicious however the menu was limited. The morning cold breakfast was fine, however, the hot breakfast items limited and not worth paying extra. The waitstaff was very friendly. Our room was in the annex and we were greatly disappointed as there was mold in the bathroom, furnishings and decor not inviting, and the exterior was in need of a major overhaul. Having stayed at numerous New England Inns, this has the potential to be a great place, however, upgrades to the rooms needed. Disappointed with accomodations.
