Timisoara, Romania Hotel Rooms at the Independent

Taxi had hard time to find Euro Hotel, but because it is slightly off the main road. The area of the hotel is close to ˝student row˝ (an area adjacent to 2 major universities) which leads easily to the centre area. The centre, across the river, is the main attraction area with many examples of old churches, large gardens, period architecture, shoppes and sidewalk cafes. From the hotel it is a very pleasant walk through park-like areas near the colleges, also with many small cafes, along the way. The hotel was immaculate, the staff very friendly and helpful. This is one great 3-star hotel, and very affordable.The staff was always eager to help out with directions, and information. The only drawback was that there were not many restaurants in the immediate area. However, eateries are easily reached on the centre, or by taxi nearby. I left at 5:30 AM well before breakfast, however, the staff prepared me a ˝boxed˝ lunch with sandwiches, fruit and bottled water for my long train trip back to Iasi.

We booked 2 hotel rooms through expedia for our family of 6. The only choices of room reservation was king size beds although it said the room slept 3. When we arrived, they changed us over to 2 twin beds and provided an extra bed for no additional cost. Extremely helpful and spoke wonderful English. No problem with wireless internet or parking. There was a lot of road construction on the street coming toward the hotel, but staff was great to give directions how to get around it. The only downside was that the original expedia reservation said breakfast was included, but when the room was booked, it said breakfast was not included. The paperwork that the hotel received from expedia showed no b'fast so we were out. We could have paid 4 euro per person, but for that much we decided to go elsewhere. Very easy drive to mall and town center. Parking around center hard to find.

Very nice large room with safe and amenities like bathrobe and slippers. Breakfast was good.

Restaurant and Pool in the center, surrounded by the Rooms spread across several small buildings Hotel is close to the center, a few min walk and serves Good Food Clean hotel with a very friendly staff, a very nice place to stay Attention points: - Rooms are spread over 3 floor buildings but with no elevator, take into account if you need one - Standard Room is small, for small fee there is an upgrade option to a larger room, something I will definitely use next time - Food service requires "patience", come relaxed

We stayed there for a night, and we liked the hotel (except breakfast). Will stay there again a next time.

Located on one of the two main squares where all the sights are, inc shops/bars/restaurants. Stylish hotel, friendly & helpful staff and nice rooms, 15 mins in taxi from airport and 10 mins walk to station - I also visited Arad, smaller city but prettier centre and 1 hour 15 mins by train (cost less than £2.50 return!)

This eastern European hotel is on par with any high end hotel in the States and should be a natural stay choice for all those who are accustomed to American standards. Unless you look out the window, you may feel you are at home!
