A family favourite!!!Posted Apr 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
We (my husband, our 7-year old daughter and I) stayed for 3 nights during our Easter holidays after having had a lovely time here two years ago. The hotel is excellent in every way: well-equipped, clean and quiet rooms/apartments, great skiing on your doorstep, swimming pool, 10-pin bowling, lovely food... The lobby bar itself is enough to make you want to stay there; sitting on reindeer-skin covered log stools, sipping a cocktail by the fire in the middle of a granite table, after a day's skiing. You'll soon forget about your aching legs if you're an occasional skier like us!!

fun but expensive ski experiencePosted Apr 14, 2013
Pros: proximity to skiing, GREAT room, great staff at desk and restaurants
Cons: too expensive
Location: right by ski slopes, just walked right over.
Showed up tired after a long drive, and desk staff upgraded us to a suite with a view (!), which was nice since I was traveling with my teenage son, so we didn't have to share the space. (We reserved 2 twin beds, but there's no way to really separate the twin beds so you're not sleeping shoulder-to-shoulder, which would be fine were I traveling with my husband, not so great with a mom and teenage son. Thank you for the upgrade!) The skiing was AMAZING, but expensive. The food was UNBELIEVABLY expensive, not just in the hotel but everywhere. Paid about $8 for a coke! Breakfast buffet was SO good, and staff so accomodating. There was no hot chocolate, but they went and got me some I think from another restaurant! Pools weren't really warm, and the jacuzzi wasn't really hot, but it's a nice space. The sauna was great. Not much in the way of TV channels, but weren't in the room much anyway. Fitness room was small but nice. FREE indoor parking!

Exceptional location for ski in ski outPosted Jan 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very happy experience at hotel. Clean room, clean hotel including pool area and service from staff exceptional even providing a packed breakfast at 0400hrs when we left to catch the bus to Oslo. First class location for ski in and out and would definitely book this hotel again for future visits to Trysil.

Holiday camp not a 5* hotelPosted Jan 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Amazing location and the best breakfast buffet I have come across in Europe. Shame that the room heating didn't work, no hot water, disturbed by fire alarms on 4 occasions, room service bringing other people's meals at 2am, no wifi. All of those things can happen but when reception say there's nothing they can do as the hotel is busy... I wonder then whether the hotel should review staffing and occupancy levels. Not what you expect from Radisson... More like a UK holiday camp
