Everything was good staying at the Chancellor hotel. The staff was super in the convenience of the location was amazing. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it does not have air conditioning. On the other hand, it’s an old building. During summer and fall, though you could really have a few days where you needed more than a fan.

Love the location, complimentary coffee/tea, cookies, popcorn, apples and drinking water. Pleasant staff. Special thanks to the asian gentleman Harrison for his courteous patience and help. Would highly recommend Chancellor Hotel at Union to visitors coming to San Francisco.

Three night stay before road trip. The hotel is fine and has plenty of character being one of the older buildings in the area, a bit different from a modern bland hotel. Staff were helpful & friendly. No breakfast but the cookies were amazing and they provide water, tea, coffee & fruit. Convenient area in downtown, plenty of dining & shopping options a short walk away. Close to public transport & attractions. Rooms are a little small but this is in the middle of the city so not unexpected. Decent value for money and I would stay again.

Charming, small and nicely renovated hotel near Union Square. The staff are courteous and welcoming, and it's a good place to spend a few hours in the lobby just chatting on the phone in the lobby or resting in between ventures out into the city. I'll be back!

Loved the small extra touches they give like daily cookies, lemon water, coffee, and even had a popcorn machine one night! Plus the rubber ducks are so cute. Room was huge and super clean. Walkable to union square, Trader Joes, Chinatown, all less than 15 mins away. Only thing is no AC but that’s on the listing. Room got a little humid.

Our stay the Chancellor was nice - the property is charming, quiet, and beds super comfortable. For me I was surprised by the amount of homeless people along Powell Street. It’s a shame as the street is great with proximity to lots of shops and the cable car right out front.
