"The Dover is a traditional style small hotel that is located a short walk from Victoria Station. Like many such places in this area, the hotels are 'townhouse' style, narrow historic buildings with many floors and, being narrow architecture, only a handful of tiny rooms on each floor. Some of these places do not have elevators, and the Dover is one of these, so if you have difficulty climbing stairs and/or lots of luggage, you might want to take this into account when choosing one of these...

"I really enjoyed my stay here. It is postgraduate student halls- so come with that expectation. The bathroom is shared however the halls are so quiet, I rarely saw anyone over my 4 day stay. They're also cleaned daily and are very usable. Its very pleasant and the atmosphere is overall really nice. You won't find a hotel in London with a roof top terrace, gardens and cooking space for the same price. "

"I’m not sure why I did not know that I would have a shared bathroom, but it was never cleaned and wish I knew this was the case. The place is very old and a little scary, but the staff there are super friendly and helpful. It’s like a hostel where people live there… full time? Maybe halfway house?"

"Had a lovely stay at Luna Simone. The staff is very warm and helpful. The room was a bit small but comfortable. We were too busy exploring London to spend much time there. The area is in walking distance to all the main tourist points and restaurants and pubs. It was very quiet at night. "

Our only complaint/heads up, it is located in an older building so the water pressure was a bit strange, and you could often hear the water running from the other rooms. Other than that, it was very nice! "

"This is a very nice place, but we didn’t realize we were not in the main house. We were in a guest house in the back and it had very narrow stairs. The bathroom was not luxurious at all. No mirror and it took us a while to figure out how to get the shower warm. "

"This is a perfectly functional hotel without being exceptional. All the staff were extremely polite and helpful and could not be faulted. It's clean albeit a bit tired. I think the rooms could be better soundproofed as people talking in the corridors could be heard word for word. The breakfast choice was good and our evening meal we tried was again good without being great. pricing is much the same as local restaurants. "Ok so it was in the right location for the activity we were taking part in. I can’t say anything about the outer rooms however our room was at the top of the hotel very hot and stuffy with only a roof window to open. Room above a fast food outlet open till 2:00am. Window had to be open to cool the room a fan was supplied but that was more noisy than the fast food out let. Also as the window had to be open due to the time year we stayed, we were woken early by the light. "
