best choice if u wanna be near central park

i arrived at the hotel a little past midnight already...the bellman escorted me to the elevators. my room was on the 8th floor; the view was not too good, but its ok coz i was more concerned about the location. The hotel was about 3 blocks from Central Park; I was there every morning during my stay. Also, the subway station is just up the block with the 1, 2, 3 trains...so it’s an easy commute throughout the city. The hotel is really convenient; grocery store within walking distance, restos nearby...banks...etc. I would definetly go back. It was my home away from home....

Surprinsingly satisfied!

We booked very last minute for the Yankees Parade. Price was cheap for what we got- didn’t expect a 2 bedroom apartment style (i figured the description was exaggerated) ha! But very pleasantly surprised. Rooms were really clean- although we only spent about 6 hours there and more than half the time was sleep. I would definitely stay here for an extended stay. It’s like you have your very own apartment! Definitely reccomend!

A Hidden Treasure!

This hotel was alittle out of the way but what a treasure. It was only blocks from Central Park and there was a grocery store 1 1/2 blocks away. It was one block from the subway which was awesome! The hotel itself was nice.. Its not a 4 star or anything. Its not luxurious. But if your looking for a clean inexpensive place to stay in New York City it is wonderful! The only complaint that I have is we rented the Executive Studio and it came with a twin sofa bed. The springs to the sofa bed were not attached and it was all ripped. Other than that everything was great. It had a little kitchenette and it was all stocked with pots and pans and everything you needed to cook and eat. I recommend that you walk the 1 1/2 blocks past the hotel and go to the market and pick up some drinks and snacks because the prices for what is in the fridge were quite high. There was a nice place for Breakfast across the street a bit called Eutopia. We had a good breakfast there. From the outside you would never know this was a hotel and the desk where you check in is just that, a desk. Nothing fancy but still a good clean room at an awesome price. We had a great trip.

Be careful of what is in the "Mini Bar" as they call it... It’s some drinks in the fridge. I noticed when we checked in that there were three of everything except for the gatorade. I should have notified the desk right then and there but I didn’t. When I went to check out they tried to charge me for the 1 gatorade that we didnt drink. Which is not a huge deal but why pay for something we did not drink. They didnt wind up charging me which was great. The Manager told the girl at the desk not to worry about it. Just be aware of what is in there and if there is only two of something and three of everything else call the desk and let them know.

Convenient Location

It was small and very basic, but clean and a very convenient location to the subway. Not a luxury stay by any means.

ok stay, but don’t go for an ’extra’ bed in the room

I recently stayed here a few nights with my parents who were visiting me from abroad. To save money, I usually book a room with 2 double beds for the 3 of us to stay in the same room. In Woogoo, unfortunately that meant I ended up with an extremely bumpy and uncomfortable sofabed. ON top of that the sofa was covered in stains and definitely needed a trip to the dry-cleaners. My parents’ bed was fine though and for the rest the overall state of the room was pretty good. The kitchenette had everything we needed and the bathroom and shower looked clean and modern. There was no hairdryer in the room, but you can ask for one at reception. Hotel is close to the subway station, and central park. There is a good supermarket round the corner.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

THe new york skyline as seen from the north end of Jacky Kennedy Reservoir in Central Park. Museum of Natural History is a worthwhile visit.

Excellent

The Tempo apartments were clean, comfortable and excellent service! There were a few maintenance issues like one of my stoves didnt work and I had no hot water in the kitchen tap but those are the only faults which didnt make anything difficult for me. Woo go was close to a tube station and close to central park so it was such a great location for such a good price.

WE FELT VERY GOOD DURING THE TIME THAT WE STAY AT WOOGOO...THE CLEANESS WAS OK!...THE ROOMS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE! THE ONLY BAD THING WAS THAT MY CHILD WANTED TO WATCH A DVD..AND THE DVD PLAYER DIDN’T WORK...WE NOTICED ABOUT IT...AND NOBODY CAME TO SEE IT! IN FACT...WE’LL RECOMEND WOOGOO TO HAVE A NICE TRIP!

Great Deal in Manhattan!

After reading reviews in which some stated the rooms were extremely small, I was a bit hesitant about staying here. However, my experience here was much better than I expected it to be. I stayed in a 1 bedroom apt and the room was a good size with a beautiful view. Central Park, many great places to dine, and the subways are just a short walk from this hotel. The staff here was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I recommend this hotel especially if you’re looking to stay in Manhattan at a reasonable price.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Definitely book early. I booked a little over a month in advance, and when I checked the rates that the rooms at this hotel were going for about a few days before my trip it had gone up a significant amount. I saved a lot of money booking early!

Incredible

This apartment building makes you feel like you’re actually living in the city. Great location--right next to the train station and walking distance from Central Park. The staff was very helpful in recommending great places to eat and how to get from one place to the next. Very affordable and great for the budget traveler. Would go back in a heartbeat. Wish I was there now!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Go to GiGi’s cafe and order a large pizza to-go. Eat it in Central Park on a Sunday afternoon. Excellent.

Good value, good location - would stay again

This is not a fancy place but good for a sensible traveler. Hard to beat the price. Subway just around the corner. Safe and clean area. Having my own kitchen was very convenient. Bed mattress was comfortable and bedding clean. Room was quiet. My room would have appreciated a bit more maintenance - the easy chair was broken, one of the stove top burners broke down on my second day, the shower drainage was clogged but fixed same day when I requested. No visitor-welcome-package with area information provided, such as buses.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Recommend Utopia Restaurant across street from subway for breakfast and meals. Affordable diner style. Cup of tea and bagle for $5. A convenience store is on corner around the block.

Will go back.

Checked in during early morning, stashed our bags, when arrived late at night, the room I was told I was to receive had someone else in it. Fortunately the night clerk had not left the property. We were able to take another room, but it was the last one of the night. It could have been messy. Maybe don’t wait past 10 PM to check in! Other than that, great location and accomodation for the price.

so close and yet so far away

The real difference about this place was just the little stuff. Location was great if you are an upper east side kind of person. Unfortunately all the repairs to the room in the past had been done by someone who didn’t know what they were doing so it wasn’t done right. Example, if you hung a towel on the shower bar the bar fell off. The kitchenette was handy and if it had just been stocked logically things would have been great. My daughter and I stayed there 4 nights. We were given 2 bath towels and 1 wash cloth for the whole time. I had to go to the desk and explain that we just needed more and we were given 1 more wash cloth. Concept is great, location is great, but considering they don’t need to do maid service until the end of your stay the room could have had some care. It was just bad enough to feel uncomfortable.

Very convenient, nice neighborhood

Upon arrival we found that one of our two rooms was vastly inferior to the other in size and location. When we expressed disappointment, the front desk politely changed the room, which was greatly appreciated. My only concern is why they thought the original assignment (for the same price) could be acceptable. So do not hesitate to speak up. The location near the subway is great--only half block away.

Best kept secret in NYC!

Location, Location,Location. Conveniently located on the upper west end of 73rd St., we found perfect access to the city. We were in walking distance of Central Park, shops, and hundreds of quaint reasonably priced restaurants, diners, and delis. If we chose to eat in, walk across the street to outdoor/indoor markets with fresh seasonal produce. The rooms were clean, with hardwood floors and a pleasant fragrance. The lobby was not as well kept but the staff at WooGo was very responsive to our requests. One staff member went the extra mile to help us find transportation to the airport when our pre-paid shuttle service could not pick us up. Our 15 day stay at WooGo Central Park Tempo Apts. was not luxurious but lovely.

Traveler's tip on dining

Utopia Diner located on Amsterdam Av. between West 72nd/73rd quickly became our favorite breakfast spot. With friendly service, the best coffee in NYC and a very economical breakfast special we were regulars every morning! Walk up or down Columbus Av. from 73rd and you’ll find your choice of amazing dining experiences. We tried something new every day. Haru Sushi was particulary good. Pomadora Italian was superb. Aroma Deli healthy and fabulous for lunches. Too many to mention all.

Perfect location near to everything metro station, supermarket, central park.

This Hotel is a good choise if your are looking good location in Mahantan. The room its Ok but in the pictures looks some much better, they made a wonderfull Lobby but the true its a old building. But dont be afraid its a good choise. You can cook there and win some dolars. Something bad the dont offer free internet. But in the 74 street look for COSI Cafeteria they has free wifi and wonderful smothies.

Very Happy, Best Value for the Money

This building is operated by two companies, one for permanent residents the other for travelers. If you’re spending most of your time visiting and want a basic place to sleep at night and a kitchenette to prepare some inexpensive meals on the run, this is the place to be. We had studio with a queen bed (mattress VG)& sleeper sofa mattress (bad). Location is supremo!3 doors to one subways stop, 2 blocks to another subway stop, 2 blocks to Central Park, 2 blocks to Riverside Park in the other direction. Solid, clean, safe neighborhood with a European feel, lots of wonderful old apartment buildings and brownstones. Permanent residents are friendly and helpful. Traveler desk (7a-10 pm) help is friendly but there is only one at any one time so be patient. Permanent residents security staff is there 24/7 and also friendly and will hold key(you only get one so if you’re group is heading is separate directions, leave key @ desk). Biggest problem is that service staff is only there during the day but traveler’s problems are noticed and reported early morning or late night. Took 2 days to get towels (unmatched) and they never did come to the room to dislodge my daughter’s DVD from the player (I had to give it a few shakes to encourage the player to disgorge it the night before we left). Nonetheless, loved location, views (10th fl corner), friendly feel & will definitely recommend to budget conscious travelers.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Fairway Grocery @ 74 & Amsterdam features organic & other specialty groceries. Aroma Coffee on 72nd is to die for, no syrups but coffee is so great it doesn’t matter. Shake Shack on Columbus@77th (by Nat’l Hist Museum)has best burgers for kids of all ages. Lots of relatively reasonably priced shopping within 3-4 blocks. If you like walking you can get to Nat’l History, Met Museum, by foot also. MOMA & Guggenheim are walkable if you’re a real trooper.

Terrific Neighborhood and 1 mile from everything

Great location. Comfortable and clean. Needs painting in the apt. we stayed in. Building is old and needs minor improvements. Usually I mind these sorts of things but we had a great stay anyway. The location and neighborhood are just terrific. Price is good. We traveled with 4 children and stayed in the two bedroom apt. Bathroom small but to be expected. Parking was easy with the desk staff help. Laundry was in basement but good.

Terrific grocery store just one block away toward 74th with a fabulous cafe for breakfast or lunch above it- cant recommend it enough.

Will go back

Hotel was convenient and close to all the places I wanted to be.A bit far from the local attractions but if you like walking and exploring the city on foot it is a fabulous spot and in a quiet area. Room was clean and kitchenette well equipped.Maintenance problems were sorted out very quickly. Will go back any time.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you like museums buy a City pass. It is good value for money and you save quite a bit if you use all the vouchers.

did the job

Basically, this hotel did the job as I was in NY for 14 days. I did like the security, location near subway and food markets, and the layout of my room. What I didn’t like was the two roaches in my kitchen, ants in my bathroom and bedroom, and sheets that were paper thin, dirty and transparent. Also walls were dirty as was the kitchen so I did my own cleaning.

Traveler's tip on dining

Lots of choices for picking up food and bringing back to your hotel from Citarella, Fairway and Zabars.

More than adequate for my purposes

I stayed for a nearly a fortnight at the hotel. It was close to the subway (The 1, 2, 3 Line at 72nd St.) and also to a large supermarket (Fairway) so I made ample use of its kitchette. The staff were helpful. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy -- no swimming pool, gym or luxurious lobby. So it was perfectly suited to my needs. The executive studio one-room where I stayed was big enough, given the famous lack of room space at NY hotels. I would stay there again in the future.

We very much enjoyed our stay at WooGo. The market and some restaurants were close by (Big Nick’s was awesome) and the subway was also close. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We would definetly stay there again.

Not good

One of us got bed bugs in the pull out sofa bed !! They only change sheets if you go for a week...Walls paper thin, need ear plugs with the typical noisy AC unit. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet thou. Metro nearby was convenient. In the future, would try other places in the area.
