Not as noisy as everyone says...

Some seem to think the train causes a lot of noise at this hotel. Maybe I’m a heavy sleeper or my room wasn;t that close to the tracks, but I had NO trouble. And the service was great here. But it IS a little pricey.

Noisy Night

This was quite possibly the noisiest night that we had ever spent in a hotel. There are bars on both sides of the building, with a loud party scene out in the streets until after last call. There is very little noise separation between the rooms. The doors between the rooms (for suite creation) had an actual open gap under each door. We wound up right next to a loud, partying couple, and a call to the front desk was ineffectual.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Only stay here if you want to stay up until dawn partying.

OK Hotel

Good Business Hotel, a tad on the expensive side./

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Fly to PDX (Portland(OR)Int’l airport) and drive your rental car to Eugene rather than flying into Eugene(OR). You will save on th expensive airfares to Eugene(OR).

Excellent luxurious hotel

We stayed here with our family, when we came to the Beaverton area for our mother’s funeral. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, elegant, quiet, and comfortable. They graciously let us check out late, so we could come back after the funeral. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a very good buffet-style restaurant on the next corner, which features great salads.

would not recommend this hotel.

The reservation was for a King non-smoking room. Instead I was given a 2nd floor Handicap accessable room with two queens and a window out onto a rooftop gravel garden with cigarete buts strewn all over. When I mentioned this wasn’t the room I reserved I was told they were full and there were no other options - this was at 3:45PM in the afternoon. I have traveled enough to know there are always options available. If you decide to stay at this hotel do not accept the key from the front desk until you have asked several questions about the location of your room.

Don’t bother.

Ear plugs given in rooms on entrance side of hotel due to train noise. BAD SIGN. We moved to the other side of hotel. Beds are old and lumpy. Overpriced for quality.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Hotel not close to U of Oregon. Not much to do in downtown Eugene.

Not Great Value For The Money

The Hilton is centrally located to the heart of the city, but that’s its only compelling feature. The additional charges for auto parking should be built into the room charge, the cost of on-demand movies is excessive, and the coffee machine if a 1980s remnant.

Nice hotel

We had a great stay. Eugene is small and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the best play to stay there. The hotel was very nice, our bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was very clean and well-done.

Kind of dreary

While this hotel is convient to anything downtown I found it to be very dark and dreary. It needs to be updated.

Old property needs face lift

Because there aren’t many choices for nice lodging in Eugene, the Hilton gets business when it shouldn’t. The hotel is old with nothing special to mark it as a Hilton property. There also was not a microwave or refridgerator in the room, although they did bring them at our request. If there were other choices in the area, I would go elsewhere.

Ask for a microwave & refridgerator to be brought to your room if needed for kids.

Better choices in Eugene

The aircon makes a horrible "clunk" when it switches on. woke me up several times the forst night. the internet connection is slow and they charge $9.95 per day. the breakfast buffet is inedible and not comped to the room. there are better values in Eugene and I won’t stay here next time.

Not worth the price

The hotel is well maintained and sits right in downtown Eugene, however, we found the service at the hotel mediocre. We received an unrequested wake-up call at 4:30am on Sunday morning. The restaurants in the hotel are dull. I’d probably recommend staying at a cheaper hotel or maybe try the Valley River Inn. At least there you can walk to restaurants (that are open).

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Perhaps this hotel is good for people who have business in downtown Eugene.

Good hotel, if someone is paying your expenses

Everything met expectations of a good business hotel in a good location. Satisfied with the room rate, but became a little dissatisfied when hit with the wireless internet charge, fee to park my car in the basement, etc. Better for those who are on business and have expenses fully covered.

Not Impressed

IMHO, this hotel is not up to the Hilton standard. It is getting old yet they still charge a premium price to stay there. The sliding glass door was broke as was the air conditioner. The breakfast buffet was expensive and awful!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Lots of other hotels in town... Check them out before staying here.

Eugene hotel

Hotel is very convenient for downtown activities. The bathroom door did not fully close. The accordion closet door would not fully close and the mirror on the door was cracked. Service and courtesy were excellent by all members of the staff.

Not the usual Hilton standard

I was disappointed in the room, it just didn’t seem up to the usual standard you expect from a Hilton. Most of the Hiltons I’ve stayed at previously had at least a small refridgerator/cooler in the room to keep drinks cool, and most also offered a microwave. The balconey offered a view of the back alley and neighboring rooftops - not very scenic (Why would you put in a balconey that doesn’t have a view of some sort). For the amount of money paid for this room, and with the Hilton name, I expected more.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you are going to be in Eugene on a Saturday, make sure you take the time to visit the "Saturday Market". It is almost worth a trip to Eugene just to spend the day looking at the all the local arts.

(Sub)Standard Room

Don’t make the mistake of getting a "standard" room here. I assumed that meant "not a suite" which I didn’t need or want. However, a "standard" room at this hotel means: 1) an extra fee for a 2nd guest (something I’ve never encountered before, 2)a surchanrge for wi-fi (free all over Eugene at other hotels) 3)no continental breakfast (free as above), 4)a substantial parking fee (free as above) 5)a tiny bathroom with wailing shower with intermittent water pressure (!), 6)no nightlight in the pitch-black bathroom 7)no minifridge, and last, but not least, 8)gross nose prints on the sliding glass doors onto the tiny balcony.

Fine Hotel

Room,Service, and Food in the Hotel resteraunt were all excellent. Our room faced 6th street and was close to a night club that produced some raucous late night noise. Otherwise we would happily stay there again
