A great family hotel - family gathering place - for all ages.

Loved the hotel - staff mostly accomodating. Servicing of rooms (2) was not as expected for as grand as a hotel they are. Had to ask for towels, tp, and cleaning. Was done twice in 4 days - with our calling the front desk for it to be done the second time, or they would not have done it. Finally done at 5PM. It really is a wonderful hotel for family gatherings or just a couple weekend stay, or a race stay. Restaurants are great!!

Thought the rooms would have been nicer

The rooms were nice, but I was expecting more extravagant. Especially the in-room television!

very nice

The spa was the best part of the whole experience! Steakhouse was awesome too. We found the hostesses and 2 of the restaurants were not friendly or helpful at all. Seemed like they couldn’t be bothered with us! Also, my friend was overcharged during checkout, but did get it straightened out over the phone pretty easily

Great surroundings that helped make our trip a success!

Our recent stay at the Gaylord Texan was outstanding. We were greeted by courteous staff members and assisted throughout our stay graciously. Having the confidence of a quality hotel added to the enjoyment of our trip to Texas. Not only were the accomondations fabulous but the variety of interests close by was a plus for our family members to enjoy time doing what they liked best. We will be choosing this hotel again and again!

OVERRATED

This hotel is so overrated,over priced, and has hidden costs. The rooms are so ordinary for the amount that you will pay to stay there. The rooms are a little better than a low budget hotel. The atrium area is really nice but you can only spend so much time there before going back to your room. Then they add a $17 resort fee daily too, and on top of that the parking is $15 to $26 a day. For the price of everything I’ll never go back.

Uncomfortable beds

For what you pay to stay at the hotel I would not recomend it for comfort of sleep. It’s a great view for what you see but not a comfy bed at all. You can get a better softer bed at other hotels and pay 1/2 what you pay here.

Many Hidden Charges

Service was bad, long lines at check in and check out, many hidden charges, extra for parking, extra resort fee, valet parking 30 dollars and close to hotel, self parking $15 and a long way from hotel, i am warning my friends to go elsewhere

More than we expected

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday by staying at this resort and spa and the staff certainly went out of their way to make our celebration special. The atrium delighted us with each stroll as did the theme furnishings. We can’t wait for the next occasion to celebrate.

After viewing the riverwalk restaurant online, we’d plan to eat there, but it was closed. We ate instead at Ama Lur and were so glad the other wasn’t open--excellent! And the chef came out to wish Happy Birthday to my daughter and accept our compliments.

Terrible service

This hotel has all the makings of being good. The service was lacking I felt like a number to them and they made me wait repeatedly for minor mundane things that should have been taken care of immedietely

Will definitely go back

This was our first trip to Dallas and we are very happy we have chosen the Gaylord Texan. We almost didn’t have to leave the hotel, everything you need is on the premises. Our room was facing Lake Grapevine and was very comfortable. We Highly recommend this resort.

Nice place

We had a nice time. It is different going to a hotel as the destination instead of a destination and then just staying at a hotel. The room was large and confortable but only on the second floor facing the parking lot. The better rooms are facing the atrium. I thought the "package" we booked included the breakfast but at check in was told that that package is only sold by the hotel and breakfast was not included. We did ad a the "Taste of Texas" and had an appetizer and drink at four of the restaurants and that was a nice was to get a feel for the different menus.

nice but wouldn’t hurry back

This is a fine, comfortable hotel near the Dallas Airport. Room was not ready for check in and we had to wait about an hour to get a room. Overall hotel was very comfortable, clean, staff was very helpful. The only negative was the food. It was not very good and very over priced

Fun place for families

Fun place to take kids in the summer. Dive in movies, Friday fireworks and changing strolling entertainers made for a fun visit.

The Perfect Getaway

Wonderful Getaway

The Texas view was spectacular looking over Grapevine Lake. We had requested a great view and we got it! We felt like the hotel listened to what we wanted and gave it to us. Atrium is wonderful to walk around and enjoy the waterfalls and foliage. Cafe’s and restaurants aplenty for refreshments as you stroll around or sit on one of the many park benches.

Too expensive to take the kids. More of an adult getaway. Outside pool was very crowded in month of May. Much more of an adult atmosphere with alcohol being consumed.

Will be going back

This was an extremely, and very interesting hotel experience. The hotel was very clean, well stocked, friendly. Close to Grapevine Mills mall. Lots to do at night if nothing more than walking around and enjoying the scenery within the hotel.

very needed get away with the wife

weekend was so much fun, the room was clean the club was a blast, the only thing I would change is the comfort of the bed, not much rest alittle uncomfortable.

Overall very nice hotel

This hotel is very nice!! It is great for the business conventions since you would stay at the hotel most of the time. Unfortunately I came for pleasure. Thinking that this hotel was between Fort Worth and Dallas it would be easy to visit both. Unfortunately there is no public transportation that is convenient to travel to these cities. If you want to take the hotel transportation it is more expensive. It would probably be more worth it to rent a car for a day or two than pay for the hotel transportation. Another downside is they don’t have free parking for hotel visitors. The hotel overall is really nice.

Would love to go back.

You could spend all day just in the hotel. The setup during the holidays was awsome. They really go all out during that time of year. The ice sculptures were also amazing. Good location and downtown area was interesting. We only stayed for 3 days and we needed 5 days to see everything and truly enjoy the resort. If we go back and its only for 3 days we would probably stay somewhere else. The hotel did try to charge me for both valet and regular parking so be sure and check your bill. Also valet parking was nice, but $25 a day was a bit expensive.

Wonderful Hotel!

We were in the Dallas area only for a few days and a friend recommended the Gaylord. My family was very impressed,both our children loved the atrium and all the shops and restuarants under the glass roof. It is a smaller version of the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. We had great service and our room was very clean and comfortable. It was a great bargin we paid a 3 star price for a 5 star hotel. It was one of the highlight of our holiday trip.

The restaurants in the hotel were pricey and not geared towards small children. The hotel staff gaves us great recommendations very close to the hotel. The Grapevine mall was a few minutes from the hotel and gave us lots of entertainment options that were geared towards families with children.

Disappointed

We stayed for a Christmas shopping trip. Did not have the resort feel. Felt like cows being herded around the place. Took one hour to get from the highway to the front of hotel. No parking available as hotel guest. Their response was "yeah, it’s bad." Very disappointed with the quality of the stay versus what we paid. Would have rather stayed home.

Beautiful hotel, but stay not enjoyed by the quality of the hotel. I complained, but all I heard was "we know."
