“This was an interesting stay. We prefer to avoid run-of-the-mill hotels, and this one is definitely not part of a big chain. It's decor is dated, and not luxurious, but comfortable. They have flyers giving the history of the building, the architect and it's troubled restoration. The balcony was really nice in the evening. We liked the location because it wasn't right downtown, but a few blocks away. ”

“We came to the area for a tournament and this was our home base for the week—-warm, homey and a great retreat from the gym. We mostly had breakfasts there and then late night snacks. The beautiful country drive to both Topeka and Lawrence was easy. We appreciated the quiet area! ”
