“Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows……

“Et helt fantastisk sted, rett og slett. Dette er ikke bare et fint og luksuriøst hotell etter Sri Lankisk standard, dette er et fint og luksuriøst hotell etter vestlig standard. Rommene er store, badet delikat og utsikten er bare helt utenomjordisk. Det er lite som slår å se den rosa solnedgangen over det indiske hav fra balkongen her, det må oppleves.”

“We stayed in an over-water villa and it was huge and lovely, set apart from the hotel but not far. Only minor thing was the pond they are set in was a bit muddy as the water was shallow, if it was a couple of feet deeper the whole illusion would be much nicer.”
