1926 B&o Caboose Centrally Located Within The Hocking Hills

Historic cabin in New Plymouth
If unique is what your looking for bring the family and stay in our 1926 B&O Caboose at Fiddlestix Village. When cabooses became obsolete several decades ago many of them became treasured possessions of former railroad workers. This particular caboose found a home in a rural horse pasture in Vinton County Ohio. Over the years it has served as a child's playhouse, hunting cabin, and even used for storage.
Since being acquired by Fiddlestix Village this caboose has undergone a magnificent restoration complete with a working railroad crossing sign. While maintaining the original 24 foot long by 8 foot wide dimensions we were able to create a truly magical space for family vacation lodging. Inside you will find two twin beds, a stunning kitchenette with a built in table for dinning and games, bath facilities (shower, sink, toilet), and space for two flip-chairs where your children can sleep comfortably in their sleeping bags. On the outside the caboose features a large covered platform-like deck which offers additional space for plenty of relaxation and outdoor dining.
Guest accommodations at this cabin offer air conditioning. Rooms open to patios. Kitchenettes offer refrigerators, microwaves, cookware/dishes/utensils, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms include bathtubs or showers.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

Birthday celebration in a Caboose
This Caboose was so fun to stay in! It is very cute. The porch could have been cleaner but everything else was great. We really enjoyed the fire pit but wish it was closer ( not down a hill) the one thing I don't understand is with a porch that size- why no hot tub 🤔

Very clean enjoyable place.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was very hot but the air conditioner kept the inside cool but it is very small so we sat on the patio a lot. We had planned on cooking but due to the heat, didn't grill like planned. Beds were comfortable. Is perfect for a couple who don't need to sleep together or two people and a small child.

Tick infestation
The property is adorable and super cute. It was clean and communication was clear. Everything you need is in the train! However, we went at the beginning of July. Anytime we stepped off the porch, we had ticks on us. Multiple ticks... Every time. We had Deet on. I walked to the trash can once and was covered. Everytime we grilled, ticks. We didn't use the fire pit because I couldn't deal with them anymore. So, we couldn't really ever leave the porch... I had five ticks on my bed, throughout the 2 nights. They may have been from us or already there. But, those five led to 3 bites on the first night. So, be prepared... We camp a lot and I have never seen so many ticks in one place. Check everything super carefully. There's high grass around the property going into woods so ticks may be coming from there.... But the grass was mowed and there was gravel and they were everywhere! Just be careful.

Red Caboose
On a 10 scale the Red Caboose is an 11. VERY cool - it is tiny house living to be sure, but staying in it is a very fun adventure. No stove, but we made due with the microwave and grill. Wish the fridge was a little larger, was unsure about temp, and the fold out bed was ok for my 6 year old grandson, but NOT for an adult. Hopefully they can think of a better option. SO close to old mans cave and Logan (which we loved and went to the Washboard Music Festival) We had a wonderful time in Fiddlestix Village, which seemed booked ! Great location, great host and the Caboose is a CLASSIC! Thank you SO much
