The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is very old and could use some serious updating. However the room was very clean. There is no ac, but this is not uncommon in Ireland.

Coupled with its wonderful food and outstanding overall service, The Strand Hotel is, without a doubt, Ireland's premier choice for an unforgettable and affordable stay.

It's a lovely little hotel on a quiet street near a park, a short walk away from lots of great food and drink -- faves include the Copper Room, the Glen Tavern & Freddies, and in the other direction, Bobby Byrne's. Also, as this is No 1 Pery Square, do go see the museum at No 2 Pery Square, so you know some of the history of the area.

Good parking. Quiet and comfortable stay.
