A true gem of a hotel in York. Easily walkable to centre.
Hotel and rooms spotlessly clean. Tasty, hot breakfast with plenty choice. Comfortable rooms but a little too hot. Good parking area at rear of hotel.
Staff very pleasant and could not be more helpful. Special shout out to Gemma and Stuart who were both excellent.
Would definitely stay here again. 5 stars all round.

This is an excellent little hotel. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and in an excellent location not far from train station and York Minster. Would highly recommend.

Loved the unique room and history of the building. Bathroom was very spacious and lovely. Staff kindly took our bags up to our room after we dropped off our luggage early.

Generally our stay was a pleasant experience and having the hotel immediately adjacent to the station was our main reason for the choice. It is an easy walk into the city.
It annoys me that a double room in a premium hotel does come with 2 easy chairs. The room was okay but, the window, facing north, was not enough to give good light in a large room. We had the lights on all of the time we were in. The net curtains could be raised but only to reveal a dirty window. The hotel was otherwise warm and welcoming and the staff were very easy to talk to and knowledgeable. The bed was comfortable and we slept well and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The dining room for breakfast was distinctly chilly but the food was fine.
