Chinatown Tours

This property is looking a little worn out and needs some updating and general repairs. We stopped here as part of a road trip with visitors to show them Waterton but we would probably have been better served to just do a day trip from Calgary. Nothing so special but at least their bed sheets are clean and white. Note, the total and average room rate your credit card gets authorized for when you check in will be different from your Expedia booking confirmation. We asked about this when checking out but the front desk clerk said there are hidden fees that you won't see when you book on Expedia and that the price varies depending on the day of the week and the dollar exchange that day. We have never experienced this before, so we were surprised to see a price difference between the Expedia confirmation and the hotel receipt. Lesson learned, we won't book a Ramada stay through Expedia again, we don't like surprises.

The service was exceptional

This hotel is ideally located right in the heart of the Waterton townsite—one block from everything. You can step out your door and be within a short walk of most restaurants, shops, and services. It's incredibly convenient and central, and that's probably its biggest selling point. The interior of the room was clean and functional. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated, which was a nice touch, and everything worked as expected. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the little gas fireplace—it added a cozy, mountain-town feel. The mini fridge was clean and kept things cold. While I didn’t use the TV, it looked to be around 28 or 32 inches. The two chairs were decently comfortable, and the small table was suitable for a meal or some light work. The exterior of the property is rustic and leans a bit toward worn. Stucco damage, cracked signage, and sagging eavestroughs were noticeable. But that kind of weathering seems fairly common across many buildings in Waterton—much of the town feels like it could use a fresh coat of paint. So while the hotel could benefit from some exterior maintenance, it's not out of place. Overall, it's a solid, no-frills stay. Kind staff. Clean, comfortable, and exceptionally well located.
