This is a great location, within walking distance of many things and kitty corner from Carnegie Hall. The bathroom had a nice big tub, and the room didn't feel as tiny as other NYC hotel rooms. My only complaint is that this is an older hotel and feels very dated and worn out. My room was so "old" feeling that it had a bit of the "ick" factor. Also, when I got to my room, the windows were wide open (in March's colder weather). I was on the 6th floor, and it just felt strange. I was just there for a night so it felt tolerable, but this is not a "luxury" hotel, even though the building itself is very impressive!" Feels like a little hideaway for when you need to rest a bit before heading back out to explore NYC. The room, the bed, the shower all more than comfortable and clean. I can't sleep much in New York because the energy is too powerful. But I prefer this section of Times Square to the main part. Slightly more lowkey, less people, but still very much alive and colorful with tons of spots to visit. Walked right across the street to Junior's, it wasn't ever slammed, just steady. Walked like 5 minutes or less to see my show at the Winter Garden. I traveled alone and it feels like a safe place too. More than one entrance on side streets and security always posted up at the entry. CVS right there. Everything you could ever imagine right around the corner or within reasonable walking distance.
