Mountain Getaway
Very nice place and we enjoyed our stay. It is in the mountains and the drive into the property was a little hair raising for us as we were not used to it, but we managed it. phone service was not good for the most part but the internet worked great for us. Recommend the property as a very tranquil and relaxing place to stay

Quaint & Secluded
We have rented MANY times…this cabin was by far the cleanest and most well appointed! Check In and check out were PERFECT!!!! The only downside is that it is a bit secluded! You should always enter thru Walnut Creek Road… our car GPS sent us another way coming in and it was really twisty! Once we came out the way Bobby told me it was a breeze! We loved cabin - our puppy loved the cows… plenty of room for our group. TWO NICE bathrooms were certainly a plus!

Relaxing get away
The home was wonderful. We took advantage of the remote setting to enjoy family and friends. We had a fire in the pit and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. If you want a quiet serene setting in a wonderful home, this is your place. We fed apples to the cows. However, if you want to be close to town, this is not your place. It is about 30 minutes to anything. Now this was great for us. Just wanted you to be aware. We spent the day in Franklin and Highlands. Both are full of shops and restaurants. My wife and I love antiques and thrifting. Franklin had great shops for that. Found many bargains. The local battered women’s thrift in Franklin has lots of great name brand items CHEAP! I would book here again. Almost forgot. Our four legged family loved the location too.

Truly 30 Minutes from 'Every where'.
There are a few other houses down in this 'holler' but the nearest groceries are 30 minutes away...Both in Franklin and Cashiers. We loved the location and it was just what we wanted. This is on a farm in the mountains.... the public dirt / gravel road to the house is 1.7 miles long but in good shape for a mountain road. You do hit over 4200 ft going over the mountain. The home is well stocked with kitchen and 'other' items... if anything a bit too much stuff.

Relaxing and Enjoyable
Our stay was very relaxing. We needed a place to get away for a few days, and this place did not disappoint. Very good place to chill. The trip up the mountain was a bit long, but that is to be expected when you go to the mountains. This home had everything we needed and more!

Serenity--mountain quiet
We enjoyed our stay at Serenity. This wonderful property is at the top of a mountain and it is very quiet and peaceful. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed; we also enjoyed the large wrap around porch outdoor space. We appreciate that this property is dog friendly, but our dog didn't like the ride up or down the mountain. This was mostly fine as relaxing on the property suited us well. This house is a great value as it can accommodate a family or two couples traveling together.

Beautiful and peaceful
The property is extremely peaceful. The decor included some antique pieces that take you back in time. So many things that took me back to my grandparents home as a child. Gorgeous deck, cool evenings, a perfect combination. The property was well maintained and the cleanest property we have stayed at.

Serene and Clean!!!
This property is appropriately named, as it is indeed Serene. Quaint little home with lovely furnishings and clean beyond measure! We were absolutely amazed at how clean it was; not a speck of dust anywhere including on the outdoor artificial plants! Absolutely amazing!!! These owners clearly take much pride in caring for this home. Our pup loved being able to run & run on the property and might have gotten a bit mouthy at first with the cows. 😉 This was a nice peaceful get away before my surgery and hope to return at a later date.

Grandma’s cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Cottage. It reminded me of my Grandma’s house. All the basics you look for in a VRBO is met in this cute cottage. The heat worked well, water pressure was good, the kitchen is well equipped. But the charm was in the decor and the outside area. We used the grill and the fire pit. We enjoyed feeding the cows. The only downside was Little Ellijay Road. Three miles of gravel road up the mountain. But you get used to it by the 3 rd trip up. I loved loved the brochures and maps left in the cottage so we could plan our outings.

Cool Stay
We were looking for a place to escape the summer heat of Florida and we found it. We had expressed our needs to the hosts and they made sure we were comfortable by supplying an extra air conditioner, but we realized after the first few days that we could open the house and enjoy the clean air and perfect temperatures. We never used the AC again. The kitchen is well appointed and had everything we needed. There is a nice pantry for storing extra food. Since there were only two of us, the very large and convenient kitchen table was great for items we frequently used. We were able to take our meals outside on the porch picnic table. Our hosts were welcoming. We appreciated vegetables Brenda shared with us from her garden. Bobby took us on a great tour of neighboring properties. What a beautiful, quiet spot. We were fortunate to be able to see Lily’s new calf, Leroy, when he was only a day old and watched him develop from a sleepy baby to an energetic prancing youngster. We learned the distinct personalities of Lily’s other offspring. Our hosts were great. The only downside for us was that the property does require driving on mountain roads. The 1.9 mile gravel road leading to the property was fine for our sedan (we never felt the need for a 4X) but is slow going. As we are in our seventies we did not feel confident driving the roads at night. The house is spacious, the hosts hospitable, and the mountain air clean and cool.

A very nice cottage nestled in the mountains to get away from it all. Peace and quiet. Just 15 min from Lake Glenville and Cashiers for local dining and activities. Home is well appointed for a mountain cottage. Very nice.

Serenity Supreme
Even tho we had 4 out of 7 days rain, we so enjoyed our stay. The home decor presents a warm and cozy atmosphere and it was so very clean. The Holts provided every creature comfort we needed for a week's stay and we especially enjoyed feeding the adorable miniature cows, Lily, Daisy and baby Freddie. We would stay here again, God willing.

Really High up there!
This was a new listing this year and it had great reviews, and deservedly. We read each one and booked it. There were mentions of gravel roads and not arriving at night. They were correct. To arrive at this place was a little scary, for me, as I AM acrophobic. Fortunately no one else was so I let THEM drive! Don't let fear of heights keep you away because this place is really sweet and Serenity is an apt name. We left the place each day to visit The Highlands, Cashiers, and Franklin NC. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Glenville. We never stayed away very long save to hike, shop, walk the dog, or boat. Never turned on the A/C or the heat and mainly read, ate, sat around the fire pit, fed the cow and her calf apples and walked the mountain. Met Bob, our host, told him I broke a nice glass while washing it, offered to pay but he declined. We grudgingly left a day early as we did not want to drive home in the remnants is Hurricane Ida. Easy check in and check out. Has everything you could possibly need except an egg mandolin...a running joke with friends that visited. Very nice stay and we hope to return next year.

Great quiet location

I know serenity and excitement are kinda like polar opposites but that is how I feel when I think of this place. It was just me and my dog, I have been coming to the area for 40 years...usually I find a place unpack and hit the road to attractions or sightseeing....not this time...i unpacked, sat on the porch, watched my dog explore and meet the cows, listened to the silence that was only interrupted by the wind blowing through the green canopy and the birds singing....wow I spent 75% of my time on that porch....the accommodations were awesome, great kitchen setup, comfy beds, WIFI, a satellite TV that i watched for about an hour, everything you need...but mostly I just soaked up the serenity....I'm home now and want to go back. Worth the Drive!
This cabin is definitely a hidden gem. A little bit of a drive to get to it, but it’s definitely worth it. The owners have thought of everything and have lots of nice personal touches. The fire pit is great and where we spent hours every night!

Loved staying at this property. The owners are very nice, caring people and go above and beyond to please their guests. When we were leaving, my daughters car would not start. I called Bob for recommendations on getting assistance. He actually personally helped us. Within 30 minutes of calling him, we were on our way. Turns out, he is a mechanic and was more than willing to help and refused to take any additional payment for assisting us. We love this place plan to return again in the near future.

Peaceful Summer Nights
The property is a slice of heaven deep in the mountains. Everything you need to keep in touch with the world is here. It is so peaceful you won't want to. You can reach Franklin, Cashiers, Highlands, or Sylva in half hour drives. I hit many of the breweries in the area trying local craft brews. I also found plenty of hiking and scenic views to take in. My Pug and I especially liked The Lazy Hiker in Franklin and Whiteside Brewing in Cashiers. Both are dog friendly and easily accessible. If you like remote peace, you'll love it here.

A home away from home
We had a wonderful time staying there. The home is so welcoming and serene. The beds are very comfortable and the blankets are oh so cozy. Every dish, pot, pan, and utensil you need is provided. The home was so clean I didn't want to leave it messy so I cleaned up after ourselves, but they said it was unnecessary because they were going to clean no matter what. The owners are extremely sweet people and they obviously take pride in their home because it shows immensely. I wish I would have had the opportunity to meet them in person. You are even greeted by a mother cow and her calf who come out and say hello from time to time. Sitting by the fire and listening to the crickets at night was one of our favorite things to do. I plan on going back and when I do I hope to stay there.

Memorial day weekend

Serenity is a Relaxing Getaway
If you need a relaxing family getaway in North Carolina Mountains with a cozy cabin and a interactive experience to feed the cows. This is the place. Plenty to do in nearby towns. Great Smoky Mountains Railroad train rides, Waterfalls with areas to stop and hike behind them, and gem mining adventures. This place is so accommodating and the host is so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. This place is the gold mine.

Secluded sanctuary
Wonderful cabin tucked deep into the depths of the Smokey mountains. The various creeks throughout the miles of road into town were breathtaking as they rushed fast and furious in the early spring. From the cabin, a babbling brook could be heard as we drifted off to sleep with the windows open. The fire pit took the chill off the evening as we watched the momma cow and her calf settle in for the night. An enchanting cabin to say the very least. . From a more practical standpoint, the cottage was extremely clean and efficient and more than equipped to meet all of our needs. We absolutely adored every minute of our stay. Thank you to our hosts for providing the perfect space for our mountain getaway!!!!

A quick vacation
We were at the cabin for a quick time away. The owners were very nice. The cabin was comfortable and cozy. The drive to the cabin was a little stressful on steep gravel and dirt roads when you are not accustomed to driving in the mountains. You definitely want to get there before nightfall.
