This was a wonderful experience all around. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful and the resort is close enough to walk to Georgetown. The diving was as expected, incredible.

Wir als Taucher haben uns sehr wohl hier gefühlt. Das Hotel ist auf die Bedürfnisse von Tauchern ausgerichtet. Für unsere Tauchsachen hatten wir vom Tauchshop einen Spind zum Abschließen bekommen, wo wir unsere Tauchsachen die ganze Zeit während unseres Aufenthaltes lassen konnten. Uns hat gefallen, das wir zur Tauchschule einen sehr kurzen Weg hatten, da diese mit am Hotel ist. In dem Restaurant welches auch am Hotel ist, kann man gut essen und trinken und den schönen Sonnenuntergang anschauen. Unser Auto haben wir bequem vor dem Hotel parken können. In dem Pool konnte ich gut schwimmen, der Pool ist auch schön tief, so dass er auch gut für Tauchausbildung genutzt werden kann.

Easy access to water for diving.Shore diving not encouraged. Sad conditions of reefs all around Cayman.Little to no sponge,barrel sponge and very few sea urchin showing the dive site and reef are really in trouble. Too many cruise ships going in and out killing tranquility.Location is in the flight pattern of planes constantly flying low over head until 10 at night.not very handicapped accessible. Steep stairs everywhere. Difficult to get around unless yourent a car or spend 20 Cayman to get anywhere. Watch the charges of dive equipment rentals.

The room was very basic and beds were comfortable. It is a well priced hotel close to George Town. Restaurant and bar are very relaxing and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again!

Superb food, comfortable lodgings, great people

We had a wonderful experience at Sunset House. Firstly, the people are wonderful: from check-in to the restaurant, dive instructors, and housekeeping staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. Also, the quality of the restaurant is outstanding - they have a selection of Indian cuisine that is beyond belief, as well as traditional seafood and American fare. Sitting out on the deck, watching the sun go down while enjoying wonderful meals every night was superb. Also, there is excellent snorkeling and scuba diving right out the back door of the resort - it is better than most boat dives! The rooms are comfortable, though basic, and we would strongly advise spending extra for the ocean view. One gripe is that the Dive Shop is a little chaotic - we and other guests were sometimes told that events were canceled due to weather, but discover the next day that they had been un-canceled. Communication on this front should be improved, perhaps with an online schedule of events that guests could view and receive electronic notifications. It would also have been nice to have a board for solo divers to find buddies. Other than that, our trip was absolutely wonderful, and we would recommend Sunset House without reservation. It should be noted that the location is a bit south of the heart of George Town, and there are challenging conditions for pedestrians on Cayman roads, so renting a car or taking taxis may be necessary if you wish to explore afield.
