Mt. Evans Cabin with 150 acres, stream, amazing views, skiing, a true getaway

Family-friendly cabin in Idaho Springs with sauna
We love this property for the privacy, stream with waterfall, and especially the incredible view of the continental divide. It now includes 4 separate parcels totaling 153 acres, and the closest neighbor is a half mile away. We're approximately 5 to 60 mins away from some of the best skiing in the country.

Our 2000 square foot cabin is built for guests. We have 3 private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The 2nd floor loft has a private bedroom with queen bed and its own bathroom. The main floor bedroom has two twin beds and full bathroom. Downstairs is another full guest suite including a queen bed and full private bath. The kitchen has plenty of space for cooking. There is a gas range, a full set of cookware and spices. Washer and dryer are included. The TV room has a 40 inch flatscreen with Hulu TV, a small movie selection, and a few games.

We love the outdoor living, so we added 600 square feet of deck facing down the valley to the continental divide. A large outdoor grill with side burner is plumbed directly to our home - no worry about running out of propane! The patio table includes a gas fire pit to warm the cool evenings.

Walk a few hundred feet down a hundred year old trail to the waterfalls of Little Bear Creek. The creek originates at the top of our land. It tumbles down the center of the property over several private waterfalls.

Game passes through the property as a migration route from Mt. Evans to lower elevations. Deer and elk are common. Bear have been seen on the property. A lynx has left its tracks, but we haven't seen it yet. Our resident foxes are almost pets. Bird lovers will see hummingbirds and friendly gray jays around the cabin.

Enjoy a traditional Finnish sauna in the evening. It is a separate building made from local whole logs with a Lamppa Kuuma wood stove and rustic barnwood and stone interior. It is a truly traditional experience with a cold water faucet and a hot water tank heated by the stove.

The cabin sits between Evergreen and Idaho Springs, convenient for access to the mountain communities, ski hills, and Arapahoe National Forest. Denver is less than an hour away.

The property is now on the power grid! We have been off-grid for years, but utility power is more convenient for our guests. We also have a new 40Mb internet service with WiFi for our guests. There is no phone line. We use cell phones in the cabin.

There is radiant in-floor heat throughout the cabin, on all floors.

We often get asked the altitude and yes the altitude has effected a few of our guests in the past. The cabin is at 9600 feet. At this elevation there are a lot of trees and a lot of sun and one Amazing view. Snow stays on the ground from November through April.
Guest accommodations at this cabin offer fireplaces and DVD players. Rooms open to patios. Accommodations are furnished with sofa beds and dining tables. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils.

Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and hair dryers. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access. Additionally, rooms include coffee/tea makers and irons/ironing boards. Housekeeping is provided on a limited basis.

Recreational amenities at the cabin include a sauna.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

Stunning views, total relaxation away from it all
Comfortable property with great views, comfortable beds, and super amenities. Went there for a guys weekend. Kitchen is fully stocked and we prepared a lot of our meals at home. Beds and baths were comfortable, lots of room for everyone. The sauna and wood burning stove were great fun, lots of well seasoned wood provided for both. Fantastic communication from Carolyn, thanks for all the tips! Gary is also available locally to help out if needed. Recommend an SUV or all wheel drive car, the drive is well maintained but all wheel drive would have been optimal. We had a blast and would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Fall Family Getaway
Perfection. This property is immaculate and absolutely stunning. Everything you need for a quiet getaway is right there. The hike to the waterfalls is breathtaking. I cannot say enough good things about the process, the home and the property. You won't be disappointed. My only suggestion would be a hot tub :) Memories my family won't soon forget.

Wonderful to stay while you amazed by the Rockies!
Drive in from Evergreen Colorado on a sunny day with time to stop every mile to take pictures. The final drive up to the house feels like you are leaving civilization. The home is well appointed with everything you need to live and then some. The deck is enormous with views for miles. Mt. Evans and Echo Lake is literally around the corner. We will be back.

Very simple process. Worth the money. Only suggestion would be to add a hot tub. 😉

Perfect Mornings and Restful Nights
Had a wedding at Juniper Pass and reception at Echo Mountain. This location was perfect for some of our family to be close to the wedding venue. The home was very clean, home "tips" were very helpful, spacious, accommodating, and the host was eager to make sure our stay was what we were expecting. The area was remote like we wanted with opportunities for short hikes and bugling elk. Would recommend this place!
